Average User Score: 5.9Jul 2, 2014Its good to have a WW2 shooter again that isn't your typical COD or MOH, but this game on PS3 is riddled with technical issues.
Poor textures, Poor Shadows, Poor Facial animations, constant frame rate drops, jerkiness, tons of jagged edges and that's to name a few. The game is near unplayable at times due to these issues causing problems with aiming and shooting.
CryEngine 3 does run like crap on PS3 and Xbox 360, but Enemy Front is the worst for it.
Another problem, you can only have one primary weapon and a sidearm, which is STUPID. Why can't we swap the pistol with another gun, this would surely increase the tactical freedom that Crysis 2 and 3 managed.
The AI is however really clever, they see a dead body they'll investigate, you can however shoot an enemy when there's planes overhead, and there's a few ways to approach each objective so Stealth is an option.
If you are to get this game, get it on PC, it looks better and runs better. Avoid the console versions.… Expand
Average User Score: 8.0Apr 23, 2014Had a right blast with this game, frame rate, graphice are all top notch. The morality system has once again been implemented perfectly. Voice acting is absolutley brilliant and the powers are creative, Neon, Smoke, Video and Concrete powers. These powers are original to this game.
The enemy AI is also no push over in this game. Each fight is a tough battle, as different enemies will employ different tactics, and each enemy requires different tactics to defeat.
The only reason I gave it a nine was lack of a "New Game+" mode like other Infamous Titles had before this. Why this was ommited from the game remains to be seen, and it affects replay value quite a bit.… Expand
Average User Score: 3.4Feb 12, 2014I thought this would have been better on the PS4 but clearly its a copy and paste of the PS3 version. Same crap different console. I would avoid getting this game, even with the £10 upgrade from the PS3 version, its still not worth the money.
Avoid this game.… Expand
Average User Score: 4.7Jan 2, 2013Quite a good Zombies map, nice to see it continues the story of Zombies and not just slapped on for nostalgia. It's not the biggest map but it's the best for getting to high rounds, and the only requirement for getting the Pack-a-Punch machine is to kill a certain number of Zombies.… Expand
Average User Score: 4.5Jan 2, 2013Another year, another Call of Duty game. The multiplayer is still the laggy mess it was last year, the SMG's and Shotguns are the overpowered guns this time, the graphics are still the same low res textures we saw last year.
The campaign choices were nothing more than take path A,B or C and character deaths had little (or no) impact on the overall story. (Despite them hyping this up to the max)
I will praise the strike force missions and Zombies mode. As they are the only thing keeping the game from getting a lower score.… Expand
Average User Score: 8.5Jan 2, 2013A fantastic open world FPS set on a tropical island with some decent RPG elements. What more could people want ...... wait there's more. You can punch sharks in the face!....... This time we do not need a bigger boat (see what I did there).
The graphics on this game are beautiful some of the best I've seen on console, heck they might even rival those seen in GTA 4 and Crysis 2. The animals, trees and setting things on fire is pretty decent. Gameplay wise it's your standard first person shooter/RPG but it's actually fun (Unlike some other shooters .... yes you know who you are!). I really love setting things on fire, but the recent update has broken the fire spread .... seriously I used to be able to cause massive forest fires and now I can only set a small patch of grass on fire.
Audio wise ..... main characters are fine but enemies sound very poor, like they were recorded back in the early 90's.
Also after you complete the game, there is no New Game+ mode which also hampered the score a little bit. If/when they solve some of the issues then this game would get a 10 from me. Far Cry 3 is the only game where you can do stupid **** and get away with it. PARENTS! Do not let your kids play this game there are a few ........ adult (and very nice) scenes in the game.… Expand
Average User Score: 5.0Oct 7, 2012I really liked this game, with the exception of the overused QTE's each campaign has a different play style. and caters for different types of players. Merc mode is amazing, especially the music. Leon's campaign is especially good, it brings back the Zombies which haven't been seen since Code Veronica, and they can also use guns and armor which means you have to mix up the tactics to take them out, instead of just popping them in the head.
Pulling off special moves is very satisfying, especially Chris' as he can lift up and J'avo and throw them to the ground. Getting back to what I don't like, is the QTE's. I think they are way overused in this game, and in some cases especially near the end of Leon's campaign the QTE doesn't seem to register that I pressed the right button at the right time.
There were also several moments where you have to run from things, and these are also way overused, there is at least one section in each campaign (Minus the prelude) where you have to do an indina jones style run away.
Is this a bad game? No it's not, and it's a shame that the people who have it a Zero are just CoD/Gears Fanboys.
This game is a solid action game, it has some elements to it, and I am happy that most of the un-needed puzzles from past RE games are not present.
Another thing I do not like is that each campaign (Apart from Chris') just starts. Take Leon's campaign, how did the president end up being infected in the first place? In fact how did the whole thing start? The story is all over the place, but once you get the jist of it you'll understand.
As I said this is not a bad game, it's a decent action title, but I don't think it should have been part of the main series. It probably would have been better as a spin off like ORC was.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.7Aug 26, 2012I really enjoyed playing Max Payne 3 both the story and online multiplayer are solid and will keep you busy for hours.
First of all, the campaign was very good, and its story was top notch. This is by far one of the best campaigns I have ever seen in a recent title. The campaign is also long, but there isn't any replay vaule to be had.
Multiplayer is also very solid. I have not had a single disconnected game since I got it. Although I have to admit there is a very high number of lag switchers on there and there is also some weapon balancing issues. However regardless of these issues multiplayer is very fun to play. Graphically the game is fantastic, not as good as those found in Skyrim, but up at the very top. The textures, animations and character models are all top notch. Overall this is one of the few modern games that has both a decent single player and multiplayer. Rockstar have done a great job with this title.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.6Aug 26, 2012This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I found it very difficult to have fun with this game. When I play sanbox games, I at least want to be able to complete missions and do other things the way I choose, but the game forces you into melee combat all the time.
Although there are guns in the game, they are very rare to find. When you do find one you can be very powerful. The setting is original, seriously. How many games are actually set in Hong Kong? .... Not much. So it's fresh envrionment, the city doesd actually feel alive as you'll see pedestrians doing things other than walking.
The RPG elements are at first confusing, and sadly limited to level 10 on all experience meters. Which is very lackluster considering the level caps of todays RPG's. This limits replay vaule, and ruins the overall fun, as once you reach the high level there's no real objective to the game, which is story missions.
There are tons of collectables, however only Jade Statues, Helath Shrines and Lockboxes actually reward you. Hacking cameras, and doing drug busts yeild very little if any reward at all, I completed all drug busts in North Point which was by no means an easy task, yet I wasn't even rewarded for this? The Cop missions are shockingly NOT OPTIONAL. Which goes against the whole point of a sandbox game. In order to continue the story you have to complete certain cop missions, which is confusing because these were marketed as being optional, when they are not. Again this goes against it being a sandbox game. Graphically the game does well in some areas, but not in others. The cars and the city looks great, but character models and animations are a mess. Honestly they look like 2006 era graphics. A very lackluster GTA/Saints Row rip off with crap graphics, and less guns.
I gave this game a 6 because the developer "United Front" has never made a game like this before so I am inclined to cut them a little slack.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.0Apr 30, 2012The game is fun to play.
The RPG elements add more variety to how you want to play the game. While the game may not be the best in the graphics department, the fun gameplay and various side missions and collectables will keep you playing. I find if difficult to believe that this game has an average of 7.4 on here, as it deservers more praise than that.… Expand
