I decided to give it a shot, just in case, and was floored. The first 10 minutes of the show are riveting and compelling. I couldn't stop there, I just HAD to see what was going to happen next, and I wasn't disappointed.
At the time of this writing, the first 8 episodes are out, and I've watched them several times (!!!) each. And since there's little else on these days, I'm probably going to re-watch them repeatedly until the season is over, and Season Two comes out.
Many media critics are annoyed by the series. Maybe it's a little too close for comfort, or maybe their expectations are set to the wrong number. This isn't an attempt at rewriting/explaining/appropriating historical facts, it's a "what if" scenario set in our recent past. It's about "What if we decided to do news the way they SHOULD be done." And it pulls no punches, and it calls a liar a liar. Which is what a number of politicians do with impunity, these days. It's good (and VERY cathartic) to see a show that calls them out on their bull.
Anyway, give it a shot, you (almost) can't go wrong.
