Needless to say, no money returned. I felt sucked by the online only and the auction house pay-to-progress methodology blizzard employed back then. Meanwhile all my friends who bought all their gear were telling me how awesome D3 is. :((((
D3 +xpak +offline play +console controls +A lot of bad ideas removed +content patching = a compelling rehash.
Its better balanced, better and more items with a better leveling process. I still miss my skill points, my runewords and my charms. The game needs work to allow more customizable play styles.
But just to give you an idea, you can tell from playing the game now that the developers will be finding it tough to add more as its clearly very easy to make items currently in the game OP if too many radical changes are made. The main reason I have left 2 points off is because the game is too set item focus atm, and the sets in the game consume a lot of spaces which annoys me constantly. I like having the liberty to change and adapt my play style and although the way it is now is about 100000x better than D3 was a PC vanilla release, I do feel a bit caged in with the current set item domination.
D3 is back on track. +8… Expand

Nicely itemized, good leveling up process, very nice graphics even by today's standards whatever that means. This game is another game that is way ahead of its time and really needed a successor but we all knew that wouldn't happen because players these days don't know a good game. Anyhow I thought I'd write this review up in case someone out there agrees with the most of my reviews they might go out and try it, its just too difficult to explain why this game is good, its just got it.… Expand

The thing IMy re-review of Borderlands 2 after I decided that I've got to try harder at getting something back for the money it cost me. The thing I despise the most about this game is the weapon generator, this is what I hated about the first one but with help, aka a beautiful little program called Gibbed you can by-pass the horrible segment of the game and actually enjoy it.
I hate the skills in the game, they're worthless. The best thing about the whole itemisation and rpg side to the game would be the awesome points which really aren't that awesome, they're incredibly conservative. You play the game for 100hrs and you achieve maybe 10% bonus to some stats. : Lel, but its still better than a kick in the shins.
Anyhow, with friends playing and a bit of gun-ho attitude you can actually get some action out of this game, pity all the rewards suck. I so strongly recommend the use of a program called Gibbed, boost you character up with some neat-o crapola and blast away. Not bad, you can actually enjoy yourself, with some friends.
I could go on, but I think for a game that's given me at least 100hrs of fun I think its finally paid itself off and so it deserves a 6 instead of a 1. :D… Expand

II've played most of the GTA's, only missed San Andrea's. I'm about 1/3 of the way through gtaV when I write this and it is a bit of a rant. I played all the other GTA's on PC, this is my first time playing is with a controller, oh which I will never make that mistake again. Fool. The big problem I'm having with the game is that its impossible to play well first time through simply because of the controls. The is not a rant about aiming, it sucks as usual for console but I expected that.
With a touch pad and the option of first person there is no excuse for rockstar to completely ignore and only treat it as a button. There are so many way it could have bettered the game. I'm annoyed at the drop in the physics department in this game, I thought gta 4 was really showing what can be done with velocity and weight in cars but now we're being pulled back to playing with plastic bottles again. Way to go, screwing you're own games, maybe rockstar should consider selling out to blizzard or activision.
The characters are not funny, they suck in basic. Trevor, the only interesting psychopathic loony in the game doesn't stay on character enough when it matters. Micheal and the other **** puppet are just lame and weak.
Its basically gta 4, weakened physics for bigger more complex map and they've changed the characters around and recycled a lot of models like bridges, dumpsters and what not. They've just stripped out the things that make the game cool and replaced it with more eye candy for the general moron public. $$$.… Expand

So much heart went into this game that the only sorry part of it is that we'll never get another game like it ever. They never made this game to milk money out of you the more you played it. Yet, the core gameplay is easy to pick up and if you want to continue to learn more about what you can do there is just soooo much material online about it its not funny.
There is no way I can review this title and cover it. It simply has to be played to be believed. Just be prepared to manage lots of cool items that you can share with your many characters or friends. You can thank the old team of Blizzard North for this gem, pity the geniuses at Blizzard dismantled them. Btw, don't bother with Diablo 3 or any of the current Blizzard products. IIve only played the shooter chick and found the game rewarding. The best part of the game for me is the death animations of the enemies. I played a lot of Left 4 Dead 2 censored and still enjoyed it and looking back now and I wonder what I missed out on now that I'm enjoying Dead Island with all its gore enabled.
The monsters are okay, there are special infected but when you learn the type of elemental attack each one doesn't like you can dispatch them pretty quickly. Monster standing in water = electrical attack, and so on.
One of the odd things that strike me about DI is the scaling of character levels. What I mean is how monsters scale with you to the point that leveling up almost seems pointless. You don't seem to get a great deal more powerful because of this, in fact if weren't for a few entertaining skills and items it would be completely pointless. This for me is a drawback but not a game killer. I like to feel that I'm getting more powerful and I thought this game could have done a better job at that.
There are 4 Acts to this game which really need to be explored and largely can be while performing many and I mean a **** tonne of the games side quests. I can see the side quests being the largest negative for many people as they are almost all fetch quest which gets very tiresome. But the maps are very well done which I really enjoyed exploring and its worth playing thru to at least the jungle (Act 3) just to see what I mean.
One of the big positive for me in this game has to be the itemization. I love good itemization and I think this one has it. There isn't any real reason to care about the quality (exceptional item) of an item rather the prefix to its name is what really matters. The crafting system called mods is pretty cool and keeps me looking for more items to tinker with. Crafted items have some pretty nifty death animations too which has been, well alright I guess. I just enjoy getting those criticals rolling out in succession and watching the **** burn. xD
*spoiler* And that's pretty much it except to say there is a final boss battle and its pure lame crap. Its some dude that's a kind of cross between 2 special monsters, whoop diddy do and I thought the story sucked but I've always preferred good characters to stories anyhow which this game is also short on.… Expand
