Average User Score: 7.9Jul 28, 2013Interesting and humorous game mechanics in this game with the generation class selection thing. It's a solid platformer. Some of the upgrades are ridiculously expensive for what you get. The game is hard, and it's a time sink, you don't have to commit more than 15 minutes to it or you can play all day if you want. It's good in between playing some of my multiplayer games.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.8Jul 28, 2013I played this game quite a bit now, the graphics are pretty good with special attention to the effects. The gameplay is very unique and that is a huge plus. The game is wildly fun if you can get on a server with two equally skilled teams.
That said there are definitely some technical bugs, the server list doesn't always work correctly, and it took a search on their forums on how to join with a friend. (Looking now it should have been obvious but it's really not.) There are a few freezes every now and then.
Classes are more balanced now as I understand, I still get the itch that archers should just be removed from the game, or limited to how many can be on a team, I'm not saying that it's cheap, because using the bow is pretty hard, but it kind of takes away why I even wanted to play the game: first person melee, but you end up running for 45 seconds to get to someone and then you just get taken out by some a-hole sitting on a tower, that you can't even shoot back at or counter in any way. Then you find out that some people play in 3rd person, which I hear is much easier, well if I wanted to play a third person action game I'd go play something that does it much better than this game. But it does give you an advantage in being able to see where your strikes are actually going.
Overall, it's a unique experience to say the least. Battles with 40+ people are chaotic and fun. They just need to flesh out some things and I'll play it more than I currently do.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.4Jul 28, 2013Got this as part of a bundle with 5 other games for 3 bucks. This game is unique in that as a tycoon game it actually has a story that doesn't just seem jammed in there because they have to, it's there to actually show you the game. The menu system is pretty in depth. I like the game, it's not a must own as there are some flaws (it can be hard to get into) but if you want something that has decent depth and is pretty unique than this is a game that can help you pass some time.… Expand
Average User Score: 4.8Jul 25, 2013Let me start this off by saying that I am not a NASCAR fan, I get all I know from the sport off of sportcenter when trying to watch something I actually care about. But I do LOVE racing games, I'm pretty damn good at them too.
PROs: Having never played a NASCAR game that was actually based on real NASCAR I've got to say that playing with a controller and less control in that big mob of cars trying not to crash at 170 mph is quite frankly one of the coolest experiences I've ever had in a racing game and truly had me on the edge of my seat. The racing experience is rather solid. A career mode is always a good thing and even though it's not fully fleshed out (as far as I can tell I just finished Daytona).
Critiques: I'm putting these here because they may not be cons for everyone. I see a lot of reviews on here about how the AI crashes too much. I played my Daytona at 200 laps and almost every caution was my fault. I was in some pretty rough crashes and was able to continue, perhaps if big crashes like this happen you should be out of the race if that's your thing.
Cons: It seems as if the game is unfinished almost like the Developers didn't get a chance to add everything they wanted. (wouldn't be the first time a publisher pushed a game out before it was ready.) There have been one or two freezes that were kind of bad. I think that being a rookie driver in NASCAR should be more difficult, I've seen how much trouble Danica Patrick has had making the transition on sportscenter. I'm playing on Hard difficulty and I finished 4th in Daytona simply by making my pit stop times add up correctly and being one of the guys who doesn't pit on lap 195, this could have been because I messed with the gas thing a bit. I'll know the next race. Let me create a driver with a portrait and do interviews and stuff in between races, these kinds of things add to the experience and allow you to make up your own story, having driver rivalries and stuff like that would also be cool.
Overall Impressions: It's a solid racing game, with a better career mode than most (it has one). It had me a more tense than most racing games I've playing in a while. I had to actually work to get position despite the aforementioned ease in tricking the AI with pit stops. AI causing crashes there were only 2 in the 200 laps I ran last race, the other 7 were because I tried to move over or my car went a little too high.… Expand
