With the exception of a couple games of Beyond Earth when it was released in the fall, I have played nothing else. I have not played a game this persistently since early WoW days. It is only now, after getting into Heroes of the Storm beta, that I am actually taking a break. But I have been meaning to review and if you like Action RPGs like Diablo, this is FTP and I cannot imagine why you would not try it.
Lots and lots of heroes.
While you could build some of those heroes to play similarly to each other, in actuality, most provide very different experiences.
With the exception of stash (storage space) and a couple chase costumes (but even they might be able to be randomed, I am unsure) everything is available in game for free.
They are really added a lot of stuff all of the time and have a lot in development
Great community, really. Noobs can ask questions in general chat and 4 out of 5 answers will be actual answers (and the troll will at least usually be funny).
They do tend to focus development on more heroes, since they bring in revenue, and less on content.
But..a new raid is opening this week.
Which is good because end game content is a little thin.
A lot of the game is really focused on leveling to 60 and then starting a new hero it seems.
Unless you load up the test center, no way to test and get a feel for heroes before you buy them.… Expand

Brave New World gives us a lot of excellent new systems and ties them very neatly together with the systems from the original and first expansion. The way that trade, religion, diplomacy, spying, culture all tie together is really well done. This is the game we should have had from the beginning. Is it perfect? No, but if you have been on the fence about Civ 5, there is no reason to delay any more. This is a fantastic TBS game now.… Expand

With no voice acting and a lot of text to read (and I am old and the text is small), you can tell they really tried to tell a story and make you feel as if you were part of the story, and yet that story seems linear, simple and your choices seem to not make a difference in that linear story line. This coupled with a check point save system, means that you have no idea how long to the next check point, and if you have been reading everything and trying to explore everything, there can be a long time between saves and this sucks if you have to stop playing because of real life. Graphics are kind of washed and muddy to me, but that might work for the Shadowrun Universe...eh. Combat is good, but the inability to rotate a screen where cover is important, and you cannot always see clearly around objects well to see what cover you would be getting, you feel like perhaps you should just go back and play more x-com. Except for the character system. There appears to be a lot of versatility in play style, and user generated content will hopefully be much better than the lack luster writing of the team from Hairbrained. My recommendation, wait for the inevitable Steam Sale.… Expand
