It's the first game I've finished for a very long time. Finished it tonight after around 70 or more hours. Very deep, engaging storyline that makes sense. Enjoyable voice acting throughout and every detail accounted for. The world is rich with detail and even minor side quests are made enjoyable through voice acting and good writing. There were a few bugs that bothered me and trying to find all the basic recipes as well as the 2nd level recipes held me back from a full 10/10. I should get to the end of the game, with most of the secondary quests completed and still have the basic oils for half the monster types.. something wrong there in the design. Graphically I found it to be a very solid experience without any issues that I would care to highlight. Definitely worth picking up.… Expand

I've played around 20 or so hours and still enjoying it. I dislike the loading times but being only 10 seconds at each one, I don't really find myself growing agitated when I see them. There's no toddlers but I've never really been that kind of player that makes use of the toddler age group in the game. There's no pools but I've never had a pool in my own backyard and only ever used the public pools in Sims 3 as another location, of many, to meet people.
My pet hates right now are the fact that only a single building at a time is "active" in the game and that all other buildings need to be loaded if you want to interact with them, even if they are within walking distance. Another thing I dislike the most is the feeling that just about everything can be done from the start of the game and there's no feeling of progression. Lastly, there's a feeling that everything can be done from your own lot and you never have to leave. This is highlighted especially by the fact that your friends are constantly coming over without being invited. It actually gets quite tiresome to see the friends coming over all the time, to the point where I ignore them a lot now.
I can't say it's the worst "on release" Sims game.. and thinking about it objectively, weighing up the pros and cons of the new things in 4 compared to 3.. they're roughly on the same level. Of course 3 had many years of expansions and mods to go with it by now, so if you are to compare 4 against the "current" 3, then 4 sucks of course!
It's certainly not a horrible game and I think that if all the people giving bad reviews rated it more honestly, we'd see an average of around 5 or 6.. I gave it 7 because it's not yet a "wonderful" game but neither is it a terrible game. It's above average at this point.… Expand

I have to take points off for this simply because they have decided to price gouge the Australian market yet again, pricing the game way above the worth of the title.
The game itself feels uninspired with so many other squad based 3rd person shooters on the market already, I was hoping that they would create something a little more unique than they did with this one. It just doesn't come across as a true X-COM title.. sure, it has that theme.. but so do other titles that have no affiliation with the X-COM series.
I'm not a fanboi of the series.. I just would have preferred it to be more in-line with what X-COM has been about for generations. This would have been a great mod of the latest X-COM game.. or some indie spin-off.. but I can't endorse something like that this that comes off as feeling like a money grab and attention seeking from those who prefer 3rd person shooters rather than the core X-COM franchise.… Expand

This is great because it means that people will be making campaigns and stuff based on the all the stories they have been waiting to tell and have previously told through the table-top gaming.
People are marking this game down because of, to be blunt, stupid personal preferences. Like the save system.. I'm sorry but if you can't spend more than 10 minutes at a time to play the game, go home. That's the approximate time between mission areas that is required to get to another auto-save.
The other major thing I am seeing people saying is the interface... there's seriously nothing wrong with the interface for a TURN BASED COMBAT game.. this is Magicka, this is not League of Legends.. you DO NOT need hotkeys.. sure they would be more convenient.. but it has not detracted from the experience for me AT ALL by not having them. "Made for touchscreen"?? Go home.
As for the story and the "walls of text".. really? C'mon, what did you expect? Grade-A voice acting of EVERY line in the game?? The story is fitting and while a little bit too predictable at times, it is still an enjoyable story nevertheless.
This is not a perfect game but it does live up to my expectations that I had for it. It could be better... but so could so many others. A strong 7 out of 10 for this one, bordering on an 8.… Expand

There's also no proper community or forums.. there's gotta be some patching in store for this.. really, really slow framerates on a computer that can run majority of current games at ultra settings. Good concept, really interested to play.. but it's just SOOOO slow. Not sure where they pulled their system requirements from but they completely and utterly fictitious in my opinion. There's no way you're going to run this beyond 1 or 2 fps with even recommended requirements at the highest settings.. and even if you use a computer with twice (atleast) the power of the recommended, you'll be lucky to get 10fps. Again, there is no formal forums or proper community for this game, so you can forget about support or anything like that..
Forget this game for now.. add it to your watchlist.. but wait till it is finished.. because this needs SERIOUS performance efficiencies.… Expand

IThis is a really great concept that has been reborn in the current gen. The concept is inspiring and makes me want to love this game. I remember the original on the Amiga 500, so having this with new graphics, easier controls and generally everything upgraded was what made me buy it despite some mixed reviews. On the surface it is everything I wanted it to be but then as you get around 2 or 3 hours into the game you lose interest very quickly as the vast amount of bugs, most notably the ground-unit pathfinding, keep rearing their heads. It gets to the point where you have to hand-hold and coddle the units; micromanaging every tiny little movement across the map.
I gave this game a 5 because everything else about it seems really well done.. and has a lot of potential.. it just feels like I am playing an early Beta version of the game that it could be in another 6 to 12 months. So my recommendation would be to wait until the pathfinding and generally the entire AI system is overhauled. Don't bother wasting your money or time until that happens.… Expand

Maybe they were expecting Turok with more adventure and puzzle solving.. maybe they were expecting a Telltale Games adventure, even though Telltale clearly said that this game is different and explained the differences. I don't know.. after I played "The Walking Dead", I wanted more of the same while I waited for the remaining episodes and this game fits that bill nicely. Yes, there's a lot of QTEs.. but then so does "The Walking Dead" and that gets a lot of high marks reviews. I think the poor reviews of Jurassic Park are based on people's expectations and not the game itself. Is it a perfect 10 out of 10 game? No.. but it's certainly not terrible as many would have you believe.… Expand

They also complain that some people like the developers are propping up the scores etc. Well maybe the people giving the low scores are competitors to Tell Tale games because this is one fine game. I highly disliked the Telltale Games Back to the Future adaptation.. I found the puzzles to be poor, the story to be poor and the gameplay in general to be tedious. I also am not a big zombie game fan either.. too many zombie games these days.
However, this game really drew me in and I enjoyed every second of it, enough to go through and play it again to pick different choices.… Expand
