The game is a ton of fun and extremely beautiful with such rich and detailed areas. The voice-acting is just top-notch and the story itself, well, it takes you in little by little and lets you experiences the story as a outsider and really draws you in. My gun-play with the new power system is old enough to be nostalgic but just fresh enough to be a fun experiences. If you are new to Bioshock and enjoy story and shooters, A MUST PICK UP.
If you are familiar with Bioshock, YOU WILL ENJOY THIS.
The middle is a bit padded but this game is easily one of the best games I have every played. It is up with my favorites and thats a hard bar to reach. GOTY already and its only March folks Do yourself the favor and pick up this absolute gem of a game.… Expand

It is NOT a great game though. As a gamer who is a big fan of the first two games, I was excited and willing to give this game the benefit of the doubt since it seemed to carry more action and less horror. Good News? It is a fun game, with some good action and tons of replayability. The Co-Op is fun and actually well done and presented, its hard to find a good Co-Op game in today's market and this game does it right [IN THOSE ASPECTS].
Cons? There are a few. The horror isnt there. Jump scares do NOT make a horror game and sadly, the game seems to try to rely on this rather than atmosphere. The atmosphere is well done and feels gritty and dangerous, but the hopelessness felt throughout the previous games is lost since all your weapons are there to take down dozens of necros with no problem. You are a badass, and while this doesnt hurt an action game, Dead Space was NEVER about the action, but about the survival. Overall, the story here is pretty good. Its a bit tedious at times since you seem to share the luck of a turd in terms on how anything and everything seems to go wrong, but since this is Dead Space, I can accept this. The story may be cliche for some, but if you accept the universe and story-telling from the previous games, this is honestly fine and quite a bit of fun. The cool parts are the ''insanity sections'' [particularly Carvers] since they do add a depth especially if you do Co-Op.
What everyone needs to understand is that this is a fun action game with some good replayability. Personally, RE6 shouldve taken a leaf out of this games book in terms of co-op and mission design. But it should be noted that this game is NOT SCARY. It's tense because you can be fighting 15 enemies all at once and getting swarmed and on occasion something might pop out of the ground and give you a jump. The horror, however, the tactical survial is completely gone. It is worth to still play this game. You just need to have realistic expectations on what to expect when you start playing this because this is a fun game. This isnt the Dead Space we have been enjoying before however. Different, still good, but not scary is the short answer.… Expand

The game is NOT perfect, do not be the first person to pretend it is. At the same time, its a well done game by a good studio, and while it may not go over the heights of the previous franchise, its still a damn good game. Hell, even the creator of Devil May Cry has gone to bat for the developer to say this is a good game and is treated with respect. If anyone is allowed to have an opinion, its him.
Overall, the gameplay is a ton of fun, and while styles could've been nice to implement here, who knows, maybe in a future installment we can see this.
The point of this review is that the haters you see in the comment section below have NOT played the game or if they did, they only did so to complain here. They are not the real fans since they are so butthurt over the new look of Dante. And while I miss the old Dante, this is a RE-IMAGINING, not a sequel/prequel. Give the game an honest go, and you will see that the gameplay as well as the story are both fun and memorable. Don't listen to the idiots on this site and try to judge a game for yourself before you knock this one off of your list. My biggest complaint, however is the lock on [which isnt perfect] as well as how over the top the story segments can be.
However, everyone in the reviewing-game biz can see this is a well-done game [hell Famitsu gave it a 34 out of 40, and we know how hard it is to please them].
so, be a open minded individual, don't give into the hate [which people did before the game even came out] and judge it for yourself. You will be surprised at how much fun you can have. Be honest and you will enjoy this game for what it is. :) This is a good game for any fan AS LONG AS YOU TRY TO HAVE FUN and ENJOY THE GAME FOR WHAT IT IS [a re-imagining with great gameplay, nothing more]… Expand
Average User Score: 4.9Nov 21, 2012BLOPS 2 is a really good game, but never hits a great status. The campaign is really good and honestly, its actually a bit of fun on how youBLOPS 2 is a really good game, but never hits a great status. The campaign is really good and honestly, its actually a bit of fun on how you can actually change the outcome of the ending depending if you failed certain objectives or whatnot. The characters are classic COD but they arent annoying and while the plot is semi predictable, its still quite a bit of fun to play [especially the Afgan mission]. However, the top-down special forces missions are really not memorable and they are kinda difficult to use. Its also a little frusterating making those mission what determines if you get a good or bad ending. but whatever, its peanuts.
Mutliplayer is just the same stuff you are used to. Still tons of fun and addicting [everything feels more balanced] and kill streaks seem more reasonable. Maps arent all that great however. And the pistol as a secondary is ACTUALLY USEFUL for once. What I mean by that is just that pistols previously were decent in the campaign but always useless against players online. You always seemed really impervious to pistols and its nice to have a backup weapon that actually does damage that isnt a machine pistol.
ZOMBIES: fun, addicting, and has a ton of eastereggs or little secrets you can unlock. The Bad? some annoying bugs, really difficult if you dont know what you are doing or what to do in Tranzit [not self explanatory]. The characters you are playing are also not memorable and have [from what it seems] less quips and lines than the previous games. They repeat the same thing over and over again to the point its noticable the first time you play it. Also, the bus idea is really cool and fun, BUT its there you can fall out of the map and die inexplicably, also, they shouldve turned collision off in the bus. Super and I mean SUPER FRIGGIN ANNOYING to have 4 people on a bus that is the size of a tin can. is it defensible? kinda yeah, but almost impossible later one due to the fact that eveyrone is getting stuck on everyone and cant shoot straight. However, long story short, its still a really fun game mode to play [PLEASE FIX THIS BY PATCHING THIS TREYARCH! :)]
Overall, its more of the same, and thats not really a bad thing. Graphics are outdated though but thats really just a minor annoyance]… Expand
Average User Score: 7.0Nov 21, 2012Halo 4 is not a perfect game. There are moments where it does outshine many other shooters like the previous Halos, but those moments [asHalo 4 is not a perfect game. There are moments where it does outshine many other shooters like the previous Halos, but those moments [as grand and big as some as they are] do get bogged down in the details. To start, the campaign, is great, but not a game changer. The campaign has a really good story [not the best one in the series] and is more emotional and honest. Getting to know the Chief a little better and seeing the problems with Cortana and the such makes for a compelling story, intertwined with the Prometheans and the such. However, the threat itself was not... well, I felt they were tying to go for a more 'YOU MUST SAVE THE WORLD' sort of story and while yes, thats what Halo is about [like in 1 - 3], it was a dramatic battle to a countdown that really felt out of place [coming from the previous campaigns]. Still, it was a good story and everything was paced quite well. Prometheans are a fun lot to fight and the little variations in the missions left everything in a nice bow. Side Note: they couldve put skulls in the game that you actually had to hunt down, would have been nice but whatever. Also, the fact you cant view terminals in game but have to log into waypoint really doesnt motivate me to go looking for those. Easter eggs were one reason to replay the campaign and this campaign just doesnt motivate me.
MULTIPLAYER: The multiplayer is faster and has a ton of replayability but I feel they could have tweaked the damage output of a few weapons a bit more carefully since a few are nerfed while others are OP. Zombies is a joke however, thats honestly something they screwed up. overall, a fun game, worth the money if youre a Halo fan.… Expand

If you have the opportunity to pick up this game, GET IT. The story itself isnt perfect, and now completing the entire game [or season 1 at least] I can say there were moments I would have liked to see or would have done differently. HOWEVER - The great news is, that this is still a helluva great game and should not be missed my anyone. The story is just so personal and the characters so believable that it has been a LONG time since I have actually given a crap about characters in a video game. The ending was poignant and well done, and makes me all the more excited for season 2.

Now this could be good or bad depending on the person, but I followed this gameTo start off, I entered this game with high expectations. Now this could be good or bad depending on the person, but I followed this game religiously for a few weeks here and there, being a previous fan of Wolfenstien and Quake Wars. However, how on earth did they screw up?!
Gameplay - You work as a team and it is fun to take separate roles to tackle certain objectives. Each class does have its strengths and it does gear itself to helping newcomers to grapple the reins easier.
Artwork - Really well done, the world is fleshed out and you do feel a certain connected-ness to the environment because the battles do take places in areas that subliminally tell a story. Also, character customizations are really nice and gun customizations make you look more tougher and fit your style of play and character.
CONS: (unfortunately, here's where I need to say)
Story - The story starts decently, but since watching videos instead of jumping into the combat while online is pointless, so if you want to play online immediately, you cant waste time learning the little back story which doesn't do much to the game play and doesn't give enough time to make you care about your side.
Also, when playing several matches, you begin not to care about a bigger story and really just care if your team is going to work together or not.
Graphics - I said the ARTWORK was nice, not the graphical component. While yes, the areas are designed to look real and liveable, the game is always loading textures even in the middle of combat. It makes a greased-lens effect which does make it a bit distracting since the textures of everything change every couple of seconds. Also, explosions don't look nice.
Gameplay - While the team work is fun, it is not perfect. Either you get lucky and get a team that plays smart or you dont. If you become the only intelligent person trying to fix the main objective, many people just go off trying to get kills and leave you vulnerable and many times don't support. Also, the AI for allies and enemies, are terrible. While they do give support, they will not go after objectives, leaving the grunt work for you every time and the enemy AI can be unforgiving, seeming to target you more often than not. This is a game meant for TEAMS but if one person doesn't support, it can mess the entire vibe. Also, there is not a emphasis to learn and become skilled with one class. Spies are good but don't really help the team too much, Soldiers can lob Molotov all day but that's about it. Engineers are the strongest class since they can just turtle around building sentry guns at will and not be penalized whenever its destroyed. Medics heal and are important but noone ever wants to be a support, and are always in dire need. It is supposed to be balanced but when you are playing with real people who want glory and battle [a unfortunate side effect thanks to COD] noone cares about the comrade next to you unless there's nothing more important occupying your time at that moment.
and leveling up? you can level up in 1 to 3 days, depending how much you play, but even then its not a lot. Once you finish a character, its just build another one and the list goes on.
Overall, if you are not a hardcore shooter fan but a fan of team shooters, this is worth checking your time. However, if you want more serious roles and stronger games in the same respect, you could do a lot better, such as Team Fortress 2. Don't misunderstand me, this is a good game. Its just not great.… Expand

But that doesn'tTo start off, this game is easily one of the most surprising games to come out in a long time. Is it good? Better, its GREAT. But that doesn't make it immune to a few problems.
Story - The story is fantastic. You are Cole Phelps, a war veteran, trying to bring justice and control to a city that is beginning to burst with fame and crime. The story is mature and does put in its quips of humor here and there. However, the cases you follow definitely have a serious tone to them and each and every crime you come across gives new challenges and rewards you for interrogating and investigating appropriately to how well you handled a situation.
Facial animations are superbly done well and when you think you have learned all the tricks of when someone is lying or doubting you, then begins the whole new area that throws you off your feet and you are cornered in a room in which you can't discover a lie.
Music - A very classy soundtrack that fits the territory well. Makes the atmosphere relateable that you can relax into the plot.
Graphics: While yes, the facial animation is well done, if you were to compare graphics to other games, it would make LA Noire low on that list. It is similar to GTA and while yes, for 2011, the graphics are good, they aren't enough to write home about.
Replay Value - Once you beat the cases, the sense of mystery and danger is gone, and you know where to look for clues. However, it is fun to see how perfect of a score you can get if you try hard enough [which isn't easy even with a 2nd play through].
More Dark than Noire - For something to be called Noire, good guys can't be as good as they appear to be and bad guys need to be either evil or borderline understandable [Watch Memento, LA Confidential]. It is still a dark and shadowy world in which you will enter with femme fatales and dark streets, but I felt it being more dark and detective opposed to being part of the noir genre. but that's is really not a complaint, mainly because it is still a great atmosphere and great game.
Overall? Get this game if you enjoy thinking and playing in the roles of cops who are trying to save a city from a menace. Don't get this game if you are too anal about everything and think COD plots are the best thing on earth.… Expand
