It is a great squad shooter, and the graphics were pretty good when it was released. One part I did enjoy was the diversity of weapons. It made you feel like you had achieved something and you get a burst of excitement when you get to try out your new toy. Plus the AI were realisitic most of the time and were a challange when there is 4 of you and a dozen of them plus a tank.
However, the story is very repetitive, as pretty much each mission after the training and 1st mission, is the same stuff in a different setting. I found the way to destroy a tank realisitic however it became extremely annoying when you run out of rockets in your rocket launcher and you have to send one of your guys with C4 to do the job, which usually ends up with him dying when you detonate. Also, not being able to pick up enemy weapons was a bit of a pain as well, especially when you run out of ammo with your rifle, down to your pistol and knife and there is still 1/2 a mission to go. The ammunition as well is an annoyance, as everytime you reload, no matter if you have even only fired one shot will make you throw away the whole clip,not just reduce that one shot from your main stockpile of ammunition like other games. It is an interesting game, with so much potential, however it just felt wrong in so many places. If a remake ever occurs, I would like to see an online mulitplayer with a more pleasurable experience and some new weapons, plus a better, more varying storyline for each mission and of course, modern graphics to give it that finishing touch.… Expand

However, there was many aspects I found quite annoying and somewhat of a letdown. Firslty, when a Japanese soldier is banzai charging, and he runs past half a dozen of your comrades to stab you. Second, I would of liked to see a more dragged out storyline, especially on Peleilu, where the beach assault is over in about 2 minutes. The aspects I enjoyed were how brutal both campaigns were, the Russian one in particular. There was also a lot more depth in it than past WW2 COD games in the characters.
Honestly, I would like to see another WW2 COD game with some parts changed-
*AI smarter and doesn't just look at killing you only.
*The ability to fix bayonets not just pick up weapons with them fixed already.
*A longer storyline with more countries.
* Not as linear.
COD World at War was a solid game, but i would like to see a new WW2 game that goes beyond the call of duty in shooter gaming.… Expand

It is a gritty game with an enjoyable storyline. You follow Vito Scaletta, a war hero. Vito chose to become a soldier rather than go to prison, and so we start fighting as part of a three man team in a town during Operation Husky. Upon completion of the mission, Vito has his first real contact with the Mafia, as Don Carlo attempts to persuade the Axis troops to surender to the Americans. 2 Years later, Vito arrives back at Empire Bay, where he begins his life in the Mafia. Mafia was an interesting game. I enjoyed the extensive collection of 40's and 50's music (my favourite era of music) and the authentic weapons for its era. I also enjoyed driving the cars around, and with a speed authentic to the times (40's cars drive annoyingly slow, while the cars from the 50's are more supercharged). I also enjoyed just the general authenticity- it made me feel like i'm travelling around a city in America in the 1950's. The downsides however are unfortunately quite numerable. Firstly, I was quite annoyed there was no melee weapons. Although they are seen at points during the 1950's part of the game, I was annoyed that i couldn't use any of them. Also, i believed that there was not as many weapons in the game. I would of enjoyed a larger array of weapons, such as the BAR, a larger slection of Rifles and maybe even an STG44. A few Russian weapons would of been nice also. I also didn't enjoy the size and depth of the storyline. I found that it was a nice touch that Vito went to prison, but i would of liked to have seen more emphasis on working for the Mafia and being able to see the inner sanctum of the Mafia. The end was also somewhat of a disappointment, although at the same time it left me hungry for more. I cannot wait for Mafia 3 to come out, but I hope they roll out the kinks in the game but still retain that authentic feel. Overall, its a good, solid game. I cannot give it a perfect score, however i can still say i thouroughly enjoyed it, and i hope to see more in the future… Expand

When IAfter starting the game, I spent 20 minutes just destroying walls, destroying the floor and just causing mayhem with a sledgehammer. When I finally decided to follow the mission I got trigger-happy with the explosives, becoming somewhat of a demoman. I majorly enjoyed the destruction engine, and the fact that pretty much anything can be blown up, smashed or shot. After finishing the tutorial, I hopped into one of the ute/truck like vehicles and started to run down people, run through walls and just causing more mayhem behind the wheel.
I found Red Faction Guerilla an interesting game. What I adore about it is that its a sandbox where when it comes to destruction the skies the limit. However, what I did find was that many of the enemies are quite difficult to kill on Normal, as it takes close to a full clip (40 rounds) to defeat an opponent. The storyline is not bad, however the death at the start (not naming names) was unexpected. Overall, this deserves to be recognised along with games with a destruction engine similar like Battlefield, Brothers in arms Hells Highway and Quantum of Solace. This game deserves recognition as a game that is absolutely amazing. A few kinks but the rest very easily makes up for it.… Expand
