First off is the combat which is focused on strategic movements, and combining different abilities/characters to give you the advantage. This system allows for challenging moments, and interesting situations, although after awhile it can get tedious. what is a pleasure is being able to upgrade your base throughout the game, and level up your character, and his relationships with others, which in turn boosts your skills on the battlefield. This is one of the best blends of story, and gameplay, that feels organic.
The best part of Fire Emblem is the story, and more importantly, the characters. They evolve throughout the game, and stay with you throughout combat making your relationships with them by the end feel meaningful, and the way the story comes to a conclusion is satisfying. The way the characters pull the story up is what makes this a truly great game.
The visuals are solid for a 3DS title, and the cut scenes, although brief, are gorgeous, and done well. Throughout the game I didn't experience any glitches, or any technical issues.
Overall Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright is a fun game that blends Characters, and combat in a satisfying way, with a story that has a great ending.… Expand

The Story behind The Division is a fun one, and the bestThe Division is a fun game with great world building elements, and a solid story.
The Story behind The Division is a fun one, and the best parts of the game revolve around the tone, and atmosphere of the world. The world building is The Division strongest feature, with NYC represented in such a meticulous way, with an added sense of despair, and dread that really makes you feeling as if this city is in the clutches of disease. Unfortunately the story does not elaborate on characters much, and is more of a tone setter for the multiplayer components.
The gun play is solid, and the mechanics are respectable, but this is very much an RPG then it is a shooter. The loot drops are good, however most drops are similar and the feeling of progression isn't high. The main missions are the best part of The Division, with varying objectives, and fun moments, however the side quests get very repetitive after a while, and this leads to a sense of tedium.
Overall i feel like the division is a well created world, with a great sense of immersion, however mission structure, and lackluster loot drops pull down the experience for me.… Expand

Gameplay The Combat mechanics are whatDark Souls 3 is a fitting end to the series with many throwbacks, and superb gameplay systems.
The Combat mechanics are what you would expect from a Souls game, only slightly refined, and the addition of weapon arts is a fun new wrinkle that adds depth to each of the weapons. The exploration is one of the highlights of any From game, and DS3 is no exception. peaking around a corner only to find a rare piece of equipment, or perhaps a Titanite source is always a reviling moment. Or perhaps fighting through tough enemies to reach a drop that benefits you greatly. The sense of scope is also back, with paths that connect, and being able to look down upon a path you just traveled through hours before is satisfying.
The lore is as always obtuse, and cryptic, however it is there if you chose to look, and listen. The game is not to hard to grasp but the further you poke your nose the more engrossed you become with the world. Also for souls veterans such as myself there are many callbacks to the original DS that will make any fan happy, and surprised.
The Graphics are nice, and while it wont blow you away, the different locales, and the variety of environments makes it so you never get bored. For the most part the game ran smooth on PS4, but there were some moments of frame-rate dips, and slowdowns in certain areas/fights.
Overall Dark Souls 3 is an excellent send off to the series, and one that seems like a love letter to fans once the credits roll, and any souls fans will enjoy the ride till the fire fades.… Expand

The story in QB is well paced, we acted, and for a time travel story, actually makes sense. The characters are interesting, and the way it is put together is great. And i feel as though the TV aspect is well executed, and adds a lot to the overall story because you get to see the villains side of the story, which are necessarily the "bad guys". The actors are well played, and the production values were solid, with only some scenes feeling fake, while some scenes felt really cheesy, it was kept to a minimum.
The gameplay is quick, and snappy, with the time powers really making you feel like a boss, and as you Learn new skills, you begin to learn new ways around the combat. Although the shooting mechanics, and cover system are average, they work fine in tandem with the time power mechanics. on top of this is the fact that throughout the levels is notes, and audio-logs that add to the story, however i wished that some of the more important stuff was left to the cut-scenes/show. The one big disappointment was the boss battle, which felt tacked on and was poorly designed,
The graphics were pleasant, with this being a smooth looking game, with no noticeable frame rate drops, or bugs, at-least in my experience.

The puzzle game whichThe Talos Principle is a thought provoking game that will make you think hard to discover its puzzles and its plot.
The puzzle game which The Talos Principle sets up is nice, and the design of a lot of the puzzle areas is well done and makes you think and observe your environment in order to advance. The way in which the game gives you a new mechanic to work with and then softly introduces you to that mechanic by way of self learning is clever and rewarding. The only thing that you will notice however is that there are some puzzles that tend to be too similar to others
The story is what shines in this game, as the philosophical themes are strewn about, which make you think hard between dialogue, and under those themes is a story which you must piece together with audio logs, and the final ending is a bittersweet conclusion.
The visuals are nice in this game, nothing groundbreaking but pleasant to look at, and the change of scenery between each world from Egypt, to Greece, and the middle ages is a nice switch. The Talos Principle is a smart, thoughtful, and challenging puzzler that poses intriguing thoughts, and a sad story underneath a well designed puzzler.… Expand

Story The story inRise of the Tomb Raider is an excellent sequel to the 2013 reboot that improves upon it in almost every way possible.
The story in ROTTR is full of exciting nerve racking moments, and strips back a lot of the supernatural elements that were in the 2013 game which is welcome. Lara is further developed as a character, with her relationship with her father being front and center, and the villains of trinity are interesting characters with motives that are not clearly black and white.
The gameplay is superb in ROTTR and the way i had to switch between weapons for different situations makes the combat interesting and the upgrading and resource scavenging makes the combat feel fresh, and the collectibles offer cool insight into the history of the location and further advances the story, and characters. The tombs are also further expanded and offer up great moments, and puzzles to be solved.
The graphics in the game are gorgeous and the locales are varied, and on top of that the game runs smooth, as i did not experience any slowdowns during my play-through.

Gameplay First off is the combat, which has seen a very nice overhaulFallout 4 is a huge RPG with a great story, and revamped combat.
First off is the combat, which has seen a very nice overhaul compared to Fallout 3 which was pretty much unbearable if not for the V.A.T.S system, and the shooting is well done and is now competent. The V.A.T.S system is not as "required" now but still fun to use, and its always a pleasure having a slow mo cam zoom in for some head pops.
The story is long, and has some intriguing plot points in it under the initial one that is shown off to you. The biggest star of the game though is the players relationship with companions and the multiple side quests that flesh out the world. They made you care for your companions and gave a sense of place in this world. The factions are also all fleshed out and it makes the decision of picking which one to join and stick with a tough choice as the game progresses.
The visuals in the game are fine and wont blow anyone away but they are good enough and for all the criticisms the game has gotten about bugs i have not run into any particular ones except for slight frame-rate hitches every now and then but overall the game ran good enough without detracting from my experience.

First off, the gameplay, which to me is the best in the series, 343i was not afraid to make changes to the format and it payoffs, the pace of the combat is brisk and elegant. The addition of the spartan abilities are great and make you feel like the war machine your supposed to be while also balancing it out it in multiplayer which might just be the best in the series. The gun play is also well done, as usual for a Halo game, and each weapon feels useful in some way.
As for the story, it was an enjoyable piece to the halo universe but it largely felt like it was setting up the pieces for the next game, and i feel like they could have dove a little deeper with some of the characters, including Locke. overall it was an exciting story with some really good moments but definitely one of the weaker Halo campaigns.
Halo game have always had great graphics and that is no different with Guardians, everything runs smooth as silk, and there are no frame rate issues

Gameplay The gameplay is theSOMA is an intelligent philosophical, SCI-FI horror game that tackles some big questions, and succeeds.
The gameplay is the standard for a exploration game, but the horror in SOMA is done well, with only few enemies throughout each level, and instead of fighting/killing them, you must try to sneak around them. Also featured heavily is the false scares where you will think an enemy should be coming but it something else, and these moments add a lot of tension to the game, and is done well.
The story in SOMA was exceptionally done, and focuses and big philosophical questions, which can be a hard thing to do. The questions posed were handled intelligently, and by the end of it, and also throughout, I was swirling with thoughts of humanity, and what it truly means to be human. For a game to get to me ponder like that is a feat that IMO earns recognition. The pacing is also well done to, with a good progression flow.
The visuals are nice in SOMA, and the aesthetic designs of the environments give off an eerie feel, which sets the tone for the game. The only gripe I had was that the loading could be a bit of an annoyance, with slow downs occurring sometimes, but this didn't hinder my experience too much.
Overall SOMA is a smart, scary, and Philosophically pondering game that tackles big questions, and does so with great intelligence. Even if you don't like horror games that much such as my self this game is worth a try.… Expand

The gameplay in Journey is pretty simple, and is based on exploring the environment looking for power ups that extend your flight capabilities, which helps you traverse more efficiently. The Graphics in the game are gorgeous and some of the sights you see are mesmerizing, with great detail done with the sand/snow giving this game a polarizing look. The game was smooth as well, and I never noticed any frame-rate issues in my play through. Now the story in Journey is really what puts it together, as you go from area to area, you will unlock more of the context surrounding your "journey" to the top of the mountain, but this is very much a story that you have to piece together and perceive yourself. Once I got to the end of the story and discovered what lied atop that mountain, I felt things inside me that few video games can draw out and that is what makes this a truly special game. I felt Loneliness, wonder, curiosity, all until the end. Journey is a short game, measuring for me at about 4 hrs, but those were 4 hours that I enjoyed immensely. Definitely a must play for PS owners.… Expand
