He truly is a great actor and is probably the main reason I have watched this show. By the sixth episode you fully see why John Simm is in this. He gives a great performance. The whole cast is good the story at the beginning is a little confusing and demands attention and patient. Hopefully it will pay off.… Expand

It has been called a british boardwalk empire which in some ways it is. With only six episodes a series, things move at a swifter pace than boardwalk empire. The entire cast is excellent. In comparison to other british shows it is brand new. And I am glad that Birmingham England's second city is finally being featured on tv. Though the accents are a little hit and miss you overlook. I doubt american would have heard accents like these on tv before. My only gripe with this show is the over use of the soundtrack. The music is fine, very good even however it is absolutly overused in this show. Plus season 2 has Tom Hardy.… Expand
Average User Score: 8.2Sep 8, 2014This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As one of the few men who have read the book or will admit to. Its really good the scenery is beautiful the casting is spot on. While it is a little slow towards the beginning I trust that the show will pick up the pace like the book does after the (spoiler Marriage of Claire and Jamie) Having read the book I know it is about to get very good very quickly but I will then have to wait until 2015.
Still it is the best show STARZ has done since Boss and Party Down.
There a couple of very interesting scenes coming up which will be very interesting to see how they do it. The pace is slow but maybe necessary in order build the world of Outlander.
I presume the many female fans were attracted to the books and now the show because of Jamie. For me one of the reasons I like watching the show is Claire played by the very attractive Caitriona Balfe. People were worried that only women would tune in but women have been watching male shows for years and men enjoy watching female lead shows. One of my favourite tv shows is Orange is the New Black and almost entirely female cast.
Very good show those put off by the slow pace I urge to stick with it just a little longer it will pay off I promise.… Expand

However it was very annoying just how little seafaring we saw. They spent most of the season at nassau. They should have gone on a few little adventures. Exploring islands and other stuff. The story of nassau the character Eleanor Guthrie was a little irritating and in season 2 her storylines need serious work. But there were good moments too. Its a show that shows great promise. And needs a bit of work in the other storylines aside from the main quest.… Expand

The characters are interesting and so areSeason 2 is even better than season 1, Now that Dexter has ended this is now my new favourite show. The characters are interesting and so are the villians. This season shows the vulnerablity of the protagonist Lucas Hood. While there is sex and violence there is also a really good story and unlike other shows it doesn't seem to be hold much back. Fantastic and funny characters, great story and possible the best action scenes on tv right now. A really good Must watch program.… Expand
