Over the past 2 years or so this has been about 90% remedied. With a re-release on steam containing a now complete, expanded (and fixed) game I am submitting my score based on the new Steam release.
There are still things that could be improved, largely around UX, but, as it stands, this is a great game and is still very much being developed and improved by the authors. I've had many, many happy hours playing and even bought my brother a copy!
Check the user reviews carefully to see if you might like it, but I just wanted to update this as I think the game more than deserves a shot.… Expand

I played for 3 months and it basically put me out of the MMO market, and I've been playing MMO's for 13 years. This totally finished it off for me.
I don't know what they were thinking. It's like Mass Effect in Space. It is more a multiplayer game than an MMO, with little interaction and broken social cohesion. Even when it goes FTP this month I still won't play it. The graphics are like KOTOR, well slightly worse.
Oh, but it has good voice acting (which you will skip through out of boredome eventually.).
Totally ruined my faith in the whole market. I'm going to take up golf or maybe open a sandwich store or something - I'm done with MMO's after this cynical $200M train wreck.… Expand

I have been playing MMO's since EQ1 and had given up on the genre after the SWTOR debacle. It is a bit like an adventure game MMO (like Monkey Island opnline or something). If you do not like puzzles or adventure games then you will probably not be hooked like I am. I was getting really really sick of the "kill 10 rats" quests in other games and this game solves that problem.
It is worth buying even for the month of obsessive fun you will have. I am unsure how it will work out as a subscription offer on a monthly basis, but am prepared to give it a couple of months to see if it does. It is giving me many more hours fun than a night out at the bar and is much cheaper.
They are giving out buddy keys, so check with a friend if you want to try before you buy.… Expand

Plus, it's free - so don't read any more reviews, just download it and make up your own mind :) I would say it will take you less than 10 minutes before you are totally addicted. I just can't express how much fun it is to be hurtling through the air, turning in mid-stream to lob a grenade at a guy that just flew past you, to have it blow up in his face. Seriously good fun, and I bought myself a gaming mouse just for this. I don't normally play FPS games, but this is the most fun I have had since Swingball when I was about 7 years old. Excellent, excellent game!!… Expand

It is almost impossible to stopRemember Dungeon Master on the Amiga? If not, even better! I have been waiting years for a game like this. It is almost impossible to stop playing. The puzzles are evil, the fighting a bit point and click, but that's what I want. I am more interested in the puzzle the game poses.
I haven't found any invisible walls yet, err, I mean walls that you can walk through, that aren't really there - like dungeon master, but I am only on a low level. I would also like a bit more of the click-something-five-miles-away, with something else, to open a door you never knew about.
But, it's compulsively addictive, I absolutely love it! When I bought it I thought: "I hope this is like Dungeon Master" and I have waited years to play another Dungeon Master - and this is it! 1 point deducted for the maps being just a little small (but that is being really niggley).… Expand
