They're not going anywhere and you can at least be grateful that games like this use them in an unobtrusive manner that only the laziest gamer will use. Completely unnecessary to enjoy the game and you get more than enough to make the game way too easy for free if you buy the game in like the first year it's out. People reviewing the game poorly who have obviously not played it simply for this reason just come off sounding like whiny, uninformed nitwits.
Great game, better than the last in just about every way except the story is a bit smaller scale. Better character development and a more immersive world though. Still has some of the old frustrations too like an obtuse control scheme and some frustrating bugs that will hopefully be ironed out soon.… Expand

Textures, lighting,I've got to wonder if any of the people complaining about 1080p being the only upgrade have ever played the originals. Textures, lighting, shadows have all been upgraded. Reactive foliage, anti aliasing... I could go on but the point is all the negative reviews don't have a clue what they're talking about. Funny how they all list X1 remasters that are better... Sure, Gears of War where you only get one game for that money and is the most generic shooter ever built is better (I'm being sarcastic and yes, I own an X1 that came with that game- wish it had been physical so I could have traded it in) and Rare Replay with a dozen games you never wanted to get the one that you did with very little upgrades to the graphics or gameplay and annoying borders on the screen. Such a deal!! Again, sarcasm. Uncharted has never been about the multiplayer, it was tacked on at best and only gained a cult following in 3. Multiplayer in almost every game is highly overrated. Babies who whine about it not being in every single game ever released need to recognize that the rest of us have grown up and recognized what a repetitive slog most MO games are. But if you need to run around the same maps over and over shooting people in the face to good about yourself, that's your problem not ours.… Expand

I could tell it was going to be a waste of time from the gameplay I saw on other platforms. Either the devs found a way to rig the voting process or people are just easily drawn in by faux retro style and bad puns. Repetitive and just plain boring, poor online play and lacking in features and mechanics- even for a "retro" game. The only reason I'm glad this won is that I didn't have to pay for it only to delete it a few hours later.… Expand

I don't know what motivation these people have to tank the score besides just having no life and being bitter, angry trolls. The graphics in Bethesda games have always been about appreciating things on a macro scale, not analyzing every texture and animation. It's about taking in the world as a whole and Bethesda has generated a masterpiece equivalent to Skyrim with this. Negative reviews criticizing the addition of nothing new have either not played the game or very little of it. Weapon crafting, town building, power armor as a fully functioning equipment set- that's only a fraction of the new mechanics added. Anyone who can hate this game never loved Fallout in the first place or just shouldn't be playing video games.… Expand

Of course you can change clothes- go upstairs in the real estate office or drag your character icon from the lower design grid screen and a clothes rack will appear- drop the icon into that and you'll be able to wear anything from that room theme or any clothing you've used in other home designs.
And to the other dolt who thinks you can only save at the end of the day- Did you ever try pushing the "start" button or, I don't know, reading the friggin' manual?!!?! You can save literally ANY TIME YOU WANT TO.
I really wish you could post comments to reviews here- I hate it when idiots barely play a game and then rush on here to post bad reviews. Or don't bother even putting a little effort into finding solutions to the problems they have with a game. There's a ton more to this game than just the first 3 houses. And there is a rating system- it's done by actual real people using the game's online functions.
I've never been a huge Animal Crossing fan but I got this game with a bundle (I'm in the US and really wanted the regular sized N3DS) and I'm having a lot of fun with it. A little more cutesy than I generally like but I give Nintendo a bit a leeway with that stud because their gameplay is usually so awesome.… Expand

Thankfully, most of my problems with the previous games areI was never a fan of the Souls series so I was very hesitant to get this game. Thankfully, most of my problems with the previous games are absent in Bloodborne. My main gripe with the Souls games was the lumbering, slow, defense focused combat. In Bloodborne this has been completely redone into a fast, fluid and graceful system that encourages offense and taking risks. My other issue with the Souls series was a generally dated and empty feel to the design and environment. Once again, Bloodborne trumps it's predecessors and creates a living, detailed world that feels natural and exciting to explore. Now to the big point, the difficulty. In the Souls games, dying often felt unfair or forced upon you. Penalties for death were too severe and intentionally sadistic. In Bloodborne when I died, I knew it was my fault. It was either because I'd done something wrong or not been careful not because the game was artificially handicapping me by taking away my health. People complaining about the difficulty (or leaving bad reviews but not mentioning it because they don't want to sound like the suck) probably aren't playing it right. The keys are to explore everywhere, open shortcuts to find your way back faster the next time you die and to return to the Hunter's Dream frequently to buy supplies, upgrade your weapons and level up. Getting your first set of armor can vastly improve your survival chances so just kill enough enemies to afford it, then go back. If you just keep dying, you'll never accrue enough blood echoes to buy anything.
There are some minor technical issues with the game. Framerate can take a hit here and there and the camera isn't always in the most optimal position. The biggest controversy is with the load times but I hardly noticed them. Most of the time if just suffered a vicious defeat and my mind was busy planning my next strategy.
So, as someone who didn't like the Souls series, I can wholeheartedly recommend Bloodborne. Definitely one of the best PS4 exclusives if not one of the best current gen games available.… Expand

Then the other morons who just want to hate EA even though they're only the publisher and didn't even make the game- a studio they own did. Don't even get me started on the idiot that gave it a bad review because it's not like the pile of crap that DA2 was. I really wish people would actually play a good part of a game before ranting about it on here but I guess the Internet will never change, tons of self righteous, ignorant buffoons.
I've played all the DA games and this is by far the best. Easily as good, if not better than, classics like Skyrim and Mass Effect. An enormous world, diverse combat and engaging stories. I'm 10 hours in and only just scratched the surface (which is probably 9 hours and 30 minutes longer than the reviewer complaining that the story is only "evil shows up, let's kill it" has played).
There are still the well known Bioware glitches present and some of the assets seem dropped in and not organic but the overall presentation is still gorgeous.… Expand

I really don't understand all the user hate over this. The majority of the bad reviews sound like they're written by spoiled little kids. Honestly this is the most absorbed I've been by an AC game since AC2. The setting is fresh and gorgeous, the mechanics have been mixed up enough to make it feel fresh and it's the best protagonist the series has had since Ezio. You really feel like part of a living, breathing world with the huge crowds and being able to explore late 18th century Paris inside, out, and below. It's the closest thing I've ever felt to time travel.
I have a feeling that a number of the complaints of poor performance are coming from people who haven't even played the game or just haven't applied the day 1 patch. I've had a few frame hiccups and minimal pop-in but nothing as game breaking as some of the whining brats here would have you believe.… Expand

I was pretty disappointed with this game, it does nothing to move the genre forward but is instead firmly entrenched in the past. I know some people will defend this game to the end and I have no idea why. The atmosphere gets boring quickly, it relies too much on surprise to scare you instead of creating real tension and the general design is just a carbon copy of better games.
In another note, anyone who experiences motion or "simulation" sickness should NOT play this game. The buggy framerate, tight camera and narrow FOV (because of the black bars) combine to make playing absolutely nausea inducing.
I won't even get in to the laundry list of bugs this game has. I've gotten stuck in walls and objects more times than I can count. Just awful design.… Expand

I'm always able to wait patiently and se for myself rather than being gullible and sucking up and believing every little thing released by the gaming media. Poor scores for Deatiny seem to come down to 2 reasons-
1- Social lemmings who hopped on the hype train, then hopped on the hate train.
2- Halo/COD Dudebros who expected it to be a PVP focused shoot.
Then there are the so called professional reviewers who seemingly didn't listen to a word of the releases from Bungie that THEY THENSELVES reported on. Never was this labeled as open world, or an MMORPG. Bungie specifically avoided comparisons to that for a reason. The bad reviews for this game read like a 10 year old whining about not getting their pony for Christmas. Spoiled and ungrateful. Of course I kind of expect that from Polygon- they're a bunch of crying hipster D-bags.
As for the game. It's beautiful and addictive. I don't have many games come along where I want to only play it for days on end but this is one of them. If this had been any other studio with about half the publicity it received, everyone would be calling it amazing. But there are so few people that can actually think for themselves or maintain an objective perspective.
True, the story could use some work but if you read the Grimoire cards in the app, there's actually a lot of very deep lore to the game.
Go in with an open mind, leave your expectations at the door and you will love this game.… Expand
