Average User Score: 8.3Aug 5, 2013After having so much fun playing V2, I thought I would give this a try. I downloaded it for $9.99 on Steam, and downloaded xpadder 5-3 so I could map my xbox 360 controller. I have a decent PC with AMD 7950 3GB graphics card. I max it all out and it is very playable. I have only played a few levels so far.It does have a more open feel from what I have seen so far.
I like to be able to save when you want, although it is limited before it affects your score (Which I do not care about). I heard on the harder levels it may only let you 7 saves or something. I believe there are 4 levels of difficulty and I started with easiest to learn the controls and moved up one level. I assume it can get pretty darn hard as even on the 2nd level, you have to manage your ammo and bad guys sometimes do not appear until you have been shot. They will sneak around behind you and nail you or pop up on building roofs you already walked by. Some good sound effects of people screaming etc. All versions of this game need to have a scarier feel. I have seen some big rats and birds, etc. These games need civilians, injured and wanting of help. Would be good side mission stuff. I do get killed a fair amount, I need to learn to play slower. You do not just gain health in 3 secs like V2, you have a gauge that you can fill back up using med kits (which I like). Tanks are there with there caps (some of them). It still is sometimes confusing on exactly what it is the game wants you to do. I found the pistal not very usable at a distance I did find usable in V2. Sniping is still very fun, and has the slow mo bullet and pretty good reactions of baddie being hit. Over all, I would think if you liked V2, you would like this one. It is fun.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.3Jul 30, 2013A fan of SEv2, I was expecting a little more from the game. My biggest gripe is the areas are so small. Also, these are organized fighting zombies, which is fine. I would perfer to have a bigger levels, so I have some elbow room to move around in. I have only played a few hours so maybe it gets better. I tend to find my self running back and forth in the small area so I can shoot. The sniper gun is almost worthless most the time. The machine gun is the best gun and I am nearly always out of bullets. Maybe I am missing something, but there is grenades and and mines lying around that I cannot pick up. So, even on the minimal level it can be a grind. I simply dont want to fight a huge mobs of zombies with no room to hide and snipe, they should have at least given us a sword for those situations. Still overall it is a decent game from what I have seen, good variety of crazy zombies and other baddies. Requires thinking and planing, which I liked in V2, but here I would perfer more laid back play for this kind of game. Its just not to my choice, others may really enjoy this approach. I will continue to play and look forward to SEIII.… Expand
Average User Score: 6.8Jul 29, 2013Sniper Elite v2 is a good arcade game. I guess these days, everyone expects a realistic sim, in which there are none, even by the AAA publishers. This game does not pretend to be a sim. Some things are scripted a bit, but still a fun shootem up. Its not all sniping, either. The movement of the player can sometimes be a little clunky and the machine gun takes some getting used to. For the most part the levels are interesting, graphics good and kill cam good. Its addictive, with some sneaking, some fast action and planning involved. On normal and above difficulty it can be difficult sometimes, but very doable. A level must be completed in a single sitting. If you go three check points in a level and quit, when you return its back to the beginning of the level. Not sure why they did that, as most people do not have a lot of flexability in their time, except for kids. I can see going back and playing a level or two again for fun. I look forward to Sniper Elite III. I hear sand box in Africa, but I doubt it wil be open world. If only it were, and they would open it up to modders, like Skyrim, it would be epic. Sniper Elite v2 may not be everyones cup of tea, but I think the typical person that likes shooters (3rd person while moving, 1st while shooting or looking around) would like this game. Just do not expect to be something its not and then complain. So, if you want to be a real sniper, join the army and practice.
If you want to play a fun, reasonably made arcade sniper game, give this a try.… Expand
Average User Score: 6.6Jul 25, 2013Fuel, with all its faults is an extraordinary game. Many have said it all looks the same I disagree, you need to drive and the scenery changes. The demo should have been red rocks zone, they would have sold a lot more games. Yes the AI is hokey and there is no hood or view. Sill many of the races are quite epic. The racing is very arcade, while the world is Sim. Some races are tough and almost have a puzzle quality to them. Some races require the right car and take the right short cuts to win. Some races are easy. There are over 70 different tracks, one review said there were few tracks, what game is he playing? The graphics on PC with a good card are very good, setup in card configuration overriding the games settings. Immediately download the mods from the internet, which corrects many car handling and AI issues, as well as gives you accesses to all cars (when you can afford them) and free fast movement to all tracks, helipads, etc. Its not completely cheating, you still have to win the races, but you see what this game has to offer quickly. I first played the xbox version and put in about 120 hrs. I opened all areas and did 90% of the races. Then I got the PC version with my new gaming pc and it is fantastic, especially with the MODs even more so. I just love driving around and have spent most my time doing that. Although racing can be quite challenging and fun. Its cheap, give it a shot I love it, and I have nearly all the other racing games too, like dirt, grid, forza, etc, etc. Oh yeah, I use a playseat and a cheap wheel. It really is different then any game out there.… Expand
