Average User Score: 8.1Jul 9, 2014Excellent game.
Hard decisions to make, punishes bad moves, makes you feel accomplished when you succeed. Game has high replay value due to randomization and various settings/mods.
Only reason its not a flat out 10/10 is minor annoyances. Such as if the last man with medkit gets wounded and some odd camera bugs.… Expand
Average User Score: 6.0Jul 9, 2014Let me begin by saying the game is average at best, basically a cut down version of Terraria in every regard - but that is expected given it is in "beta" status, I use the term beta in quotes because Chucklefish (the developers) seem to have no idea what a beta actually is even though one would hope they have at least one software design professional on their team. What it is at the time of writing this review (July 2014) is more of a alpha or tech demo.
The reason I gave it such a low score is because purchasing this game is essentially handing money over to Chucklefish in the hope that once complete the game will be good. And time and time again they prove that not only are they unmotivated or incapable of delivering a good product but they also think very little of their customer base.
Postponing release dates and not even coming close to meeting them along with very slow development progress are the least of anyone's concerns when purchasing this game, blatantly lying to consumers, berating them, trolling them, any form of criticism against their product are labelled as "loaded" and dismissed if you are on their forums and not white knighting you can expect a ban fairly quickly. These are the kind of ways this company handles their PR, this is the kind of behavior you will be enabling if you give this company any more money.… Expand
Average User Score: 7.6May 15, 2013If you are expecting a TD game with FPS elements do not buy, the TD section of this game is a step down from Sanctum 1 in every way. There are two reasons I'm giving this a 0.
1) False advertising, I was lead to believe this would be a TD game of some sort and is "building upon the success of the original game" which is blatantly false. 10 tower max and resource supply drops in a TD game really?
2) After playing tutorial for 5 minutes I started feeling sick and had a migraine for about 4 hours, I'm not the kind of guy that gets motion sick normally either so this game does something really odd.… Expand
Average User Score: 3.9Jul 24, 2012This game is reasonably entertaining for the first 20 hours or so (time for a run through normal->hell)
but after that it has quite literally 0 end game except for farming gold and buying from ah. In addition the combat is frustrating and progression is even more frustrating. Yes this is an ARPG that uses the term progression to describe you going through content. This game is essentially a single player top down version of WoW, Sounds like your kind of thing? Good, but not what the majority wanted from the successor to the greatest ARPG of all time.
Gets a 0 for taking money under false pretense of this being a sequel to diablo.… Expand
Average User Score: 5.9Jun 28, 2011From a fan of the original and a PC gamer this is quite a saddening release. Fear 2 didn't do the franchise justice but it didn't completely butcher it like this release did. I couldn't care less about graphics, but the entire atmosphere is gone, the gameplay is mediocre at best and it feels like more of a console port than any PC release I have played so far. If you liked fear at all, stay the hell away from this title.… Expand
