Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem is a B movie that truly earns its B.

It may not be classic sci-fi like the original “Alien,” which it has in its DNA, but it’s a perfectly respectable next step in the series.

Provides enough cheap thrills and modest suspense to shake a few shekels from genre fans before really blasting off as homevid product.

Chopped down to 40 minutes, this could be a wickedly cool short; as is, it’s a passable slasher that’s still nowhere near the interspecies smackdown we geeks have long imagined.

Aliens vs. Predator -- Requiem simply exists, nodding to the continuity of the larger series and opening the door for, yes, another entry in the franchise. In Hollywood as in outer space, spawn begets spawn.

A dull actioner that looks like a bad video game.

The film's major draws are R-rated gore and some nice physical effects, proof that a man in a top-of-the-line monster suit can still be more effective than CGI.

An orgy of mindless violence, a random collection of bloody bodies, alien misanthropy, and slobbering carnage designed to bore straight into the pleasure centers of 13-year-old boys and leave the rest of us wondering when the movies got so damn loud.

--- Ho, ho, ho - the joke's on anyone who pays to see this.

It's unclear whether any of the actors here have promising political careers since their only purposes are to serve as prey, adversaries and involuntary incubators to their guests.

The camerawork is a smidge too shaky and the lighting/color design too dark for me to relish the Predator-on-Alien butt-kicking.

The problem with the "Alien vs. Predator" series is that the humans keep getting in the way.

A tasteless, witless, mindlessly perfunctory bloodbath that has the discourtesy to take itself seriously. Pitting aliens against predators may be the height of frivolity, but God forbid anyone have fun with it.

Jack K gave it a0:
This is a disgusting film. There is literally nothing good about it. When it is not in horribly bad taste, it is poorly acted, poorly shot, and poorly written. There must be a line somewhere, and I contend that featuring a monster injecting eggs into a woman about to give birth, killing the woman, destroying her child, and hatching a brood of aliens is the kind of thing that should be censored. Whoever made this film is beyond hope and should be condemned. This is worse, and more corrosive, than the worst kind of pornography. Shame, too, on HBO for running this film!
Jack N gave it a5:
In my opinion, this is an entertaining film, but I won't deny that it is a bad movie. The action was good and the extended scenes were great, but the acting is bad, it's too short like the first film, and the alien and predator costumes must have been badly made as you can't see anything here. This is worth a rent if you and some friends want to get drunk, but I would only recommend that you buy it if it's in a box set. First time I saw this, I loved it, but it gets worse with each watch. AVP3 should only be made if Predators turns out good, and if they make an Alien 5 that is just as good as the first few films.
Michael W. gave it a2:
Whilst the first movie may have proved to be a fun and entertaining guilty pleasure, this film can't even be that. We are given a poor plot, no characterisation and shameful cgi. Avoid.
William T gave it an8:
If you're looking for a movie that you can just sit down and watch and have lots of gory fun while doing so, then look no further than AVP2.
Sean C gave it a10:
It was a good movie. Non stop action and a few scares. The fight sequences were well executed maybe slightly dark with a good scene involving the national guard and another good scene with the predator fighting the aliens in the hospital
Jakob gave it a7:
I am a big fan of all the alien and predator movies, i liked this movie. I really wanted this movie to be great but the directors made the movie cheap and maybe that's why it got dark, to hide they mistakes. I also think they rushed through the movie, if they ever make a third i hope it will astonish the fans.
Brook P. gave it an8:
What on earth are you people thinking when you rate these films on the story. what are you expecting when you rent out or see a movie called aliens vs predator lol? sounds to me like your just in way too deep. Relax and enjoy a bloody fun movie
