Austin Chronicle Marjorie Baumgarten
Unruly girls around the world are liable to find these Bandits stealing their hearts.
Read Full Review >Philadelphia Inquirer Desmond Ryan
If you enjoy visuals with substance as well as flash, look no further than this exuberant movie.
LA Weekly John Patterson
Equal parts big-house B-feature, hammer-down road movie, post-feminist consciousness-raiser and rock & roll pipe dream.
Read Full Review >Newsweek Ted Gideonse
(Katja von Garnier's) talent makes this original film exciting and moving, a raucous ride.
Read Full Review >The New York Times Lawrence Van Gelder
Its winning cast, spirited music and mordant view of establishment figures, from the police to cocaine-sniffing record industry executives, make Bandits a stylish, buoyant entertainment.
Read Full Review >San Francisco Chronicle Mick LaSalle
Has a lot going for it -- but too much going against it to be a clear-cut winner.
Read Full Review >Los Angeles Times Kevin Thomas
An emotion-charged tale that's also an edgy commentary on women's destinies and how they're still so largely affected by men.
Read Full Review >TV Guide Ken Fox
The rogue feminism of "Thelma and Louise," mix in some of "Rock 'N' Roll High School" punk-rock energy.
Read Full Review >Chicago Reader Lisa Alspector
The final image, a minimalist evocation--perhaps a compromise for an unmarketable ending--puts an intriguing spin on everything that's come before it.

For film buffs who want to see what's hot in Germany, Bandits is probably worth the price of a ticket. Those looking for action, drama, or rock 'n' roll may find the mix less than satisfying.
Read Full Review >New York Post Lou Lumenick
Basically a feature-length rock video from Germany with appealing performers, decently written characters, a killer score, and an interesting premise.
Miami Herald Andrew Curry
A confused mess of music video montages drowns out the rest of the action, depicting the foursome in a variety of sexy romps that clash with the plot.
New York Daily News Jami Bernard
This self-conscious movie by Katja von Garnier is shot like a music video, stocked with quick cuts, lip-synching and fantasy performances.

One can only hope that the parties responsible for Bandits are brought to justice and someone can stop them before they film again.
Mr. Showbiz Michael Atkinson
Dim and eye-rollingly foolish -- Call it Dumb, Dumber, Dumber Still, and Dumbest.
