The Hollywood Reporter Michael Rechtshaffen
It's very much in "A League of Their Own" league, but what the inspirational sports drama Believe in Me might lack in freshness, it nicely compensates for in heartfelt, winning conviction and spirited performances.

Even with ties to the true story of high school hoops coach Jim Keith and his unlikely triumph with a 1960s Oklahoma high school girls' squad, the hackneyed, overlong Believe in Me is much too similar to a recent flood of inspirational basketball pics to distinguish it.

Despite all its clichéd moralizing and blatant borrowings, the movie does offer a few clever twists on an old formula. "Hoosiers" may have been a better film, but Hackman never had to coach a team to victory after his star player quit to go have a baby.

Don D. gave it a9:
Very enjoyable movie. Would recommend for anyone to see.
Karen H. gave it a10:
If you are familiar with girl's basketball in the 60's, you understand why this is truly an inspirational story. It is still relevant today because we should stand up for what we believe in, even when the outcome might not be what you want, but you might be surprised who is there to support you.
Mona R. gave it a10:
It was refreshing to be able to watch a movie with my kids and not worry about cussing, sex, or violence. We were swept up in the story and thoroughly enjoyed it! Excellent family movie that truly inspired my pre-teen daughters.
Jeanette M. gave it a10:
I love what the moves story was based on, and the message that it gives, to belive and you can sucssed.
Kloten gave it a2:
I didn't think they had the 3 point line in the mid 60s, and Oklahoma was the last state to play 6 on 6 basketball, and that was in the 90's. But I love the school board president.
Eddie S. gave it a10:
Great movie! Every dad should take his daughter to see it. Better than Glory Road.
