The Hollywood Reporter Duane Byrge

Splashed and accessorized with brainy nonsense, "D.E.B.S." is a "H.O.O.T."

Chicago Tribune Allison Benedikt

So what started as a female "Agent Cody Banks" happily and seamlessly becomes so much more, with style and substance existing in unusual harmony for a spy spoof.

New York Daily News Staff (Not credited)

Cute, campy and as proudly insubstantial as its heroines' micro-miniskirts, D.E.B.S. deftly fulfills its Jane Bond fantasies without so much as breaking a nail.

TV Guide Ken Fox

The terrific soundtrack, which includes the Only Ones' "Another Girl, Another Planet" and New Order's most excellent "Temptation," is heavily weighted towards the '80s, which is exactly as it should be.

Los Angeles Times Carina Chocano

For an unabashedly silly spoof of a girly action flick, D.E.B.S. is unexpectedly fresh, thanks mostly to the sweetly exuberant love story at its center.

Film Threat Pete Vonder Haar

If you didn't like "Charlie’s Angels," there’s a good chance you'll enjoy the smarter, sexier D.E.B.S.

Washington Post Stephen Hunter

It's so spoofy it's difficult to call 'good' or even 'bad'; just say it's smooth.

New York Post Kyle Smith

The gags run thin after half an hour or so.

The Globe and Mail (Toronto) Jennie Punter

The most endearing aspect of D.E.B.S., a sweet-spirited spoof, is that the lesbian romance is played for real, with no nudge-nudge wink-wink irony.

Village Voice Laura Sinagra

Aims for a mix of "Heathers" wit and "Batman" TV-show camp.

Christian Science Monitor David Sterritt

Alas, the movie isn't nearly as amusing as its premise, but it's refreshingly different from most run-of-the-mill teenage fare.

San Francisco Chronicle Ruthe Stein

A lumpy concoction.

But even by the dull standards of movies so far this year, it seems mighty piffling.

Chicago Reader J.R. Jones

This forced spoof seems to be targeted at lesbian couples and hetero men with severe schoolgirl fetishes; that may be a legitimate market, but I'd hate to be sitting between them.

The Onion (A.V. Club) Nathan Rabin

An incorrigible tease. It baits its audience with the promise of fluffy, light-footed cotton-candy fare, but delivers a clumsy, talky, indifferently filmed lesbian romance.

LA Weekly Ernest Hardy

Doesn't live up to its genre-crossing, parodic ambitions.

Chicago Sun-Times Roger Ebert

At some point during the pitch meetings for D.E.B.S. someone must certainly have used the words "Charlie's Lesbians."

Rolling Stone Peter Travers

You might think there's no downside to a movie that peeks up the skirts of babes in micro-minis, but writer-director Angela Robinson's dimwitted satire is libido-killing proof to the contrary.

20

The New York Times Stephen Holden

The film has no idea of how to develop its one-joke premise. The tepid love scenes are as erotically charged as a home movie of a little girl hugging her Barbie doll, and the satire as cutting as the blunt edge of a plastic butter knife.

Washington Post Michael O'Sullivan

A hideously unfunny spy spoof with pretensions to social satire in its treatment of a lesbian relationship.

Entertainment Weekly Owen Gleiberman

The movie has no wit, no charm, no cleverness, no traction. Simply put, it is no fun.

Kerry S gave it a9:
Caught it on cable with absolutely no prior knowledge of the movie. Laughed out loud! (Sang out loud to "A Little Respect"). The movie is cute, funny, and romantic. All 4 lead D.E.B.S. are a hoot (Sara Foster maybe least so), and Jordana Brewster is perfect. Bought it immediately on DVD, and pop it in whenever we're in the mood for a fun movie. I guess it's a guilty pleasure, because it's on most critics' "worst" lists, but it's on my personal "best" list... (for the record - I'm not a lesbian, my whole family likes it, and my daughter swiped it when whe went off to college.)

Sa L. gave it a1:
The worst movie i have ever seen in my life!!! 2 those who give it better then 5... were u watching the same movie? it has a horrible, stupid, irashinale plot.. the vilan is just plain dumb! the villan isnt even evil

Zack L. gave it a0:
I wasn't expecting to see a masterful film when I rented this movie, but was hoping to have fun with it. Instead, I had 0 fun. This is as dull, charmless, idiotic and unentertaining as movies will ever get.

sheila c gave it a10:
This film works when viewed with an open heart and with your sense of humour switched on. On one level a warm gentle lesbian love story, and on another a really good example of a genre that works best when (as here) it doesn't take itself too seriously. Total fun.

Kat K. gave it a9:
People get it or don't get it. It's a light hearted spoof, doesn't take it'self serious movie, played for campy fun and a smile on your face. I found it a hoot in some places and put a smile on my face for the most part.

Cheryl S. gave it a10:
You need to be a lesbian to love it.>

Alexis R. gave it a10:
I liked very much... lite funny, excelent actresses and real romance performance. Specially Jordana Brewster she is beautiful and ext. sexy.
