75

Philadelphia Inquirer Carrie Rickey

Buoyed by the appealing Hart and Grenier.

75

San Francisco Examiner Wesley Morris

An impressively competent "how will male teen star get with female teen star at high school dance?" romance.

65

Mr. Showbiz Kevin Maynard

The appealing cast makes the most of the derivative story.

63

Chicago Tribune Mark Caro

An innocuous teen film.

63

Chicago Sun-Times Roger Ebert

Slight and sweet, not a great high school movie but kinda nice, with appealing performances by Hart and Grenier.

Dallas Observer Luke Y. Thompson

Actually quite agreeable, but only because of a group of actors who are able to salvage the paper-thin material.

Film.com Tom Keogh

Doesn't go the distance in either story or style, unwilling to liberate itself from real or presumed expectations about what it takes to sell a movie featuring teenagers.

Chicago Reader Lisa Alspector

Impressively nuanced.

Entertainment Weekly Owen Gleiberman

Amusing in its very shallowness.

50

San Francisco Chronicle Mick LaSalle

Succeeds in its modest way because its stars, Melissa Joan Hart and Adrian Grenier, are pleasant to be around.

The New York Times Lawrence Van Gelder

When it comes to an ending, Drive Me Crazy offers no surprises, but it arrives there in amiable, sensible style.

50

Miami Herald Phoebe Flowers

That it manages a certain air of likability is due solely to the considerable charms of Grenier.

50

New York Post Jonathan Foreman

Recycles the teen romantic comedies of the last few years...and it's easily the worst of the lot.

50

Boston Globe Jay Carr

Gets by on the watchability of its young stars.

USA Today Mike Clark

A minimally tolerable excuse to splice one or two perfunctory scenes between song cues.

50

TV Guide Maitland McDonagh

Smarter and more engaging than it has to be.

40

Los Angeles Times Robin Rauzi

Like the song, the movie is bouncy and catchy but disposable pop material.

Washington Post Desson Thomson

Enough to make any thinking person want to shoot a hole in the screen.

30

TNT RoughCut Christopher Brandon

A poor excuse to put out a soundtrack of teen pop songs.

30

Variety Robert Koehler

Sloppy and dull in equal measures.

LA Weekly Paul Cullum

Nothing in this craven exercise... will register in the memory for longer than the walk back to the car.

New York Daily News Jack Mathews

Isn't a movie as much as it is a feature-length screen test.

So badly plotted and written that it rarely makes much sense, even with the elementary story line.

Erin S. gave it a 10:
This is the best movie ever! It's one of those movies that will be stuck in your head until you force it out of your mind and then it comes back in 10 minutes. Everyone HAS to see this movie. It's a classic story.Geek and Prep fall in love.

Naomi H. gave it a 10:
I was friends with Elizabeth Hart and it was nice to see her and her sister appear together. They have worked hard for it...

Yoon C. gave it a 7:
Cliched, banal, and so forth. But, the leads, especially the female, perform their roles with true dedication and isn't that what's best and most precious about youth? Believing in one's own dreams? Decent teen movie, far superior to most.
