Summary

RATING: PG-13 for crude and sexual content, and for language

Starring Larry The Cable Guy, Iris Bahr, Bruce Bruce, Joanna Cassidy, Brooke Dillman, Tony Hale, David Koechner, and Lisa Lampanelli

Sporting a cut-off flannel shirt and armed with a truck-load of one-liners, Larry the Cable Guy is America's reigning king of blue-collar comedy. Larry makes his feature film debut as a big city health inspector whose life is turned upside-down when he's saddled with a straight-arrow rookie partner and assigned the biggest case of his career. Entertainment Weekly Scott Brown

As an expat redneck, I recognize the deep, dumb need of every group for its own culturally customized minstrel show. Larry, a junker ''star'' vehicle run on arse wind and fan love, fills that niche.

Variety Joe Leydon

Entirely comfortable as the crude character he has honed in countless stand-up routines and TV appearances, Larry the Cable Guy sustains a level of likeability that enables him to get away with a lot more than he has any right to. But, he remains very much an acquired taste.

Folks watching any movie that opens with a shot of a butt crack (with the possible exception of "Lost in Translation") can't claim they weren't warned.

Larry offers enough scatological humor to fertilize the wheat fields in the star's home state of Nebraska.

Toilet humor, jokes about paraplegics and serious overacting make this lowbrow comedy an irritating watch.

You have to be a bit of an arrested adolescent to think "Larry" is funny.

Chicago Reader J.R. Jones

Though some of his one-liners are pretty good, his shtick can't sustain this dutifully scripted comedy. Megyn Price, who's done time on the sitcom Grounded for Life, is a welcome distraction as the waitress with a crush on Larry.

''Health Inspector" hopes to do for Larry what ''Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" did for Jim Carrey, who in this context looks like Noel Coward.

Joshua L. gave it a10:
This is the miost great movie i have ever say in my life. The movie is soo great.

John P. gave it a0:
I'm sorry I had to see this. What a miserable excuse for a film. Larry the Cable guy is not a comic, he's just exploiting people who are dumb enough to go see his movies.

Pat C. gave it a4:
Some cute skits, though too heavy on the potty humor - well, what did I expect? Best quip, after stating a string of quips, is "I could do this all day." Plot a little convoluted for having so little content, but Larry always remains in character. Any guy who's been drunk enough to spill his spit bottle will grasp the downside of his lifestyle. Forget the theater and watch it at home on TV on a poor night.

Joe B. gave it a0:
Really, I mean what do you expect from this guy? Fart jokes are at the height of his comedic ability. I am sure his target audience will love it.

Michael gave it a5:
This is basically the same as the comedy tour. The only difference is that this guy is running around to restaurants. There is not a good story behind the movie, which I like to see. It seems he just goes from restaurant to restaurant making quick come-back remarks to everyone and his team mate. Some of the quips were funny, but the laugh lasted only a min. I was hoping for a better story, dang it! My recommendation is to wait until it comes out on PPV or DVD.

Charlie C. gave it a9:
classic LTCG. I havent ever laughed so hard in a long time. If you love LTCG and have a good sence of humor youll love this movie!
