Chicago Sun-Times Roger Ebert
This is a movie for those who sometimes, in the stillness of the sleepless night, are so filled with hope and longing that they feel like -- well, like uttering wild goat cries to the moon. You know who you are.

Mr. Showbiz Michael Atkinson
Never takes off, and much of the time Pool seems lost herself, resorting to clichés, redundancy, and dead-end allegory.
75
Miami Herald Connie Ogle
Lost and Delirious doesn't need metaphors for the power of strength and healing. All the passion and pain it needs glows ferociously in the eyes of its young women.

Boston Globe Jay Carr
Boldly goes where Hollywood rarely treads: into the passionate, intense, and complex world of girls at the point in their lives when self-discovery is combined with enormous vulnerability.

San Francisco Chronicle Edward Guthmann
Pool captures the crazed urgency of first love -- the feeling of a passion so fierce that even a disapproving society can't crush it.

Entertainment Weekly Owen Gleiberman
Evokes the intimacies of teenage girls with unusual delicacy, and Perabo's performance is a geyser of emotion.

Sophisticated in that European way and predictable in that Hollywood way.

Piper Perabo is a revelation -- and Barton is maturing into a sensitive, subtle performer with a marvelously expressive face.

LA Weekly Ella Taylor
Blessed with a lovely score and strong acting, but crippled by an awkward, mawkish script.

New York Post Lou Lumenick
Perabo gives a fairly impressive and flashy performance, even when the script descends into melodrama.

Los Angeles Times Kevin Thomas
Will divide audiences between those whose hearts have been tugged into going along with the picture way past common sense and those who find it impossible to accept the film's credibility-defying developments.

New Times (L.A.) Gregory Weinkauf
The movie is beautiful to look at (lensed by Pierre Gill) as are the girls, but it takes its clunky message so seriously that it often verges on silliness.

Seattle Post-Intelligencer Paula Nechak
It has a frenetic, unsettled edginess that chafes against its serene, woodsy, upscale private school setting.

Village Voice Jessica Winter
A startling letdown after (Léa Pool's) plaintive, understated coming-of-age tale "Set Me Free."

The New York Times A.O. Scott
It works in so many ways except for the script, which sounds laughable. And sadly, when Lost and Delirious trips over its own two feet, it is laughable. It needs to follow Paulie's advice and rage more.

Washington Post Desson Thomson
Equally earnest and unconvincing.

Variety David Rooney
All the dramatic stops are pulled out as the script goes into serious literary overload.

Austin Chronicle Kimberley Jones
Isn't much more than a self-indulgent picture about the feeble delirium of a lovesick girl -- lightweight stuff that labors to seem terribly important.

Sori gave it a10:
Beautiful film. This isn't a gay film it's about passion and true love. This is one of the most amazing films I have ever seen and they if can make a part 2. It's a great movie! I could really feel Paulie's pain, to be denied by the person she loves (Victoria) when they both know that their love is just once in a life time. It's such a tragic love story, that every time you watch it it makes you feel and think more about this character and what they are going through. i love piper...i love Pauly...she's the best actress of the world!! Definitely the best film I will ever see.

brandomondo gave it an8:
The movie makes an impact emotionally and visually and therefore I rated it highly. Technically, there are gaps, sudden stop and starts in the storyline. I can see how it can be presented differently, other blockings or soundtracks but the actors and sentiments cannot be topped. The casting is brilliant and the attractiveness of the actors is a large part of the movie's appeal.

Rick b. gave it a10:
Gay movie review very well for the most part. Everyone who is gay will most likly love this movie, just because of the topic itself. I on the other hand think this may be in the top 10 movies I have ever seen do to the acting. I would normally find all the tears and screaming over the top. Not here though, this movie puts us where most of us have been. Lost without the young true first love, doing everything and anything to win this person back. you feel the pain and also how she demands that she will win. Barton plays excellent as the caring outsider who really wants to help, just how? she to is dealing with her own problems, the head of the school is knowing but yet tries her best to not get too invoved, you know why. so many layers to each person I could watch this movie if it lasted 2 hrs. more. This isn't a gay film it's about passion and true love. the ending is a bit much, but most of us have felt this bad. I am 31 now and will tell all the 16-20 yr. olds who had the pleasure to watch this film, buy it and keep it forever.....you will never forget the first love ore the pain of losing them. this will make you smile in 10 yrs.
