Variety Andy Klein
9 Dead Gay Guys, a dark comedy in the John Waters tradition, takes place in such a cartoonish, good-natured universe it's hard to imagine anyone taking offense.

The film scores points needling the guys' lingering insecurities.
Read Full Review >TV Guide Maitland McDonagh
Walks a thin line between refreshing irreverence and shameless exploitation of offensive gay stereotypes.
Read Full Review >New York Daily News Elizabeth Weitzman
Heavily influenced by Guy Ritchie, director Mo gets most of his comic mileage from a Hasidic Jew and an angry dwarf -- which should tell you everything you need to know.

Witless, sophomoric and relentlessly frenetic, 9 Dead Gay Guys... is about as funny and understated as its title.
Read Full Review >LA Weekly Ernest Hardy
The execution is actually worse than the premise. Nonstop racial, sexual and cultural stereotypes parade across the screen with little wit or real humor to guide them.

The film strains mightily to be flashy and hip but finishes more in the realm of the merely distasteful.

If garbage could think, it would look down on 9 Dead Gay Guys as garbage.

Tim M. gave it a7:
As a gay male I found it amusing. It's just sophomoric low-brow humor. There are lots of movies that are much worse than this one. Killer Condoms is a good example of something worse. Remember folks, those who can't do-review!
Simon F. gave it a 10:
This film was made to shock. But in truth it blatantly knocks stereotype thinking on its head at the end of the film. I presume most critics didn't watch it to the end - this genre requires it. It also has the sweet undercurrent of a man coming to terms with his sexuality. May I just clarify that the two main characters are not from Dublin, but from two undefined places within Ireland - one has an Ulster accent, the other accent less acute.
Brian gave it an 8:
I cant believe all the bad reviews I have read about this film. This movie was funny! Definitely not an intellectuals film but entertaining none the less. I didn't find anything offensive about this move as so many reviews are saying and by the way I am a gay man. If you like simple-minded low brow humor (and maybe more so if you are gay) you will like this film. As usual, never listen to the over analyzing talking heads.
Magnificent K's gave it a 10:
This was part of our Gay Movie Marathon...and we give it a 10 for good stuff....yaywoo.
[Anonymous] gave it a 9:
I thinks it's sad how we're so snesitized to anything poking fun at stereotypes. This movie was thoroughly enjoyable and was time well spent. It is not offensive, this being said by someone who is gay.
Castor di B. gave it a 3:
I have a bias for nudity, Irish actors and dwarves and so I gave this pinkeyed rummage of stereotypes all that it deserves. The director/writer, for all of his Guy Ritchie influence, blows at comedy like Paris blows at sex.
