MPAA RATING: R for drug content, language and some sexual material
Starring Anna Faris, Adam Brody, John Krasinski, John Cho, and Jane Lynch
Jane F., an unsuccessful slacker actress, is having a bad day. And it’s getting more outrageous and comically surreal by the minute. Jane’s misadventures begin when she treats herself to a batch of cupcakes left unattended by her psycho roommate that prove to be not as innocent as they appear. Soon, she is trying to cross town so she can repay an unforgiving drug dealer, attend an audition, and somehow replace the precious cupcakes. Bumming a ride from her roommate’s friend--who is totally infatuated with her--she sets out on a long, strange trip. And when the original manuscript of the Communist Manifesto falls into her hands, things really get out of control. (First Look International)

Cesar A. gave it a10:
This movie is the best ever! Aif u are a true stoner its all about you! its poking fun at the true stoner life and I am so glad I saw it, and still am forever this is my favorite way better than "super bad".
Dan S. gave it an8:
Clever approach to comedy..... Some of the other reviews remind me of music reviews by people complaining that, "Radiohead sucks compared to Phil Collins."
Jay K gave it an8:
I thought this movie would be trash, but it's surprisingly good. I don't like stupid stoner movies, I don't like teen comedys or any of that garbage. I hated Harold and Kumar or whatever. But this movie is genuinely clever! My wife and I laughed throughout. Also sober. The script was funny, and Anna Faris does a great job.
Jeb M. gave it a9:
So dumb funny its smart, Smiley Face makes fun of the stoner within while reveling in the stupidness. I laughed out loud so many times and thought "oh that's cleverly relevant to the marijuana culture." Anna Faris is great as always, playing a character totally unrelateable yet recognizable in our culture and our friends. If you didn't like this movie its because you take your weed way too seriously or you don't get it at all.
Scott T. gave it a0:
Unwatchable. One of the worst movies I've seen over the course of the last year. I wish I had checked out the non-critic reviews before I rented this waste of time. I found myself laughing at the movie as opposed to with it.
Pancho V. gave it a2:
Contrary to what this movie tries to contend not all stoners are retarted. This movie completely lacks finesse. Once thing it has going for it, I guess, is that it has decent music.
Jeff G gave it a0:
This movie was so bad, I think I should be able to sue the critics assembled here. While I usually love Ferris, this movie is so far beneath every actor in it. Terrible script, terrible direction and poorly shot. A movie about a stoned actress living in L.A., wow, that took a lot of time to think of.
