Los Angeles Times Kevin Thomas
Well paced and affectionately observant, Way Off Broadway is a good example of a low-low-budget first film in which the filmmaker got everything just right.

LA Weekly Chuck Wilson
This ensemble drama is passionately acted and nicely shot, but the storytelling of first-time writer-director Dan Kay is infused with an archaic naiveté.

Mildly engaging but never entirely convincing.

Film Threat Merle Bertrand
Isn't a terrible film. It's not offensive, controversial or even interesting in any way.

Variety Robert Koehler
Both extremely familiar and, despite frequent references to Stanley Kubrick and Orson Welles, cinematically and dramatically dull.

Rosie L. gave it a10:
I really enjoyed this movie. I saw it a total of 3 times, bringing others each time. Dan Kay did a fabulous job of bringing this movie to the screen. I loved the ensemble cast and Morena Baccarin shines. I enjoyed the hanging out with these people and watching them struggle with that time after college trying to find your place in the world while still remaining true to yourself. This movie works for me and I hope I can find it on DVD.

Denise L. gave it a9:
Very good performances from a fresh new cast! Only a New Yorker (writer, director) can capture New York so well. Hollywood never never comes this close.

Paul A. gave it a 10:
So good.
