TV Guide Ken Fox

Hoch's very funny satire on racial stereotyping cuts both ways.

Deceptively silly, ultimately intelligent.

New York Daily News Robert Dominguez

Despite its good intentions, Whiteboys -- a serio-comic examination of hip-hop's influence on suburban white youth -- comes off as little more than a fleshed-out skit.

Without a real story to go with the notion of Farm Belt "wiggas," the humor wears thinner and thinner until it disappears.

Not a movie that can afford to take itself seriously.

Can never quite decide whether it's after the humor implicit in what seems conceived as satire, or the agitprop frissons of race and class theory.

Documents accurately the capacity of pop culture to make mongrels of its consumers. But it doesn't quite know (or want to know) what to make of it.

Too many scenes play like actors acting rather than life being lived as pic lurches around with ragged variations in tone.

spongeee gave it a10:
If you don't see the dual nature comedy or the ultimate point/meaning of this movie, then you just don't think like some of us. It's over the top, it's laugh out loud funny, and it is as smart as Bamboolzed (which was a classic). The script is perfect, its three different lives, in one city, and how they interpret and live "Hip Hop," better yet how they view black culture as a whole. The acting was great and made the script come to life. There is not a dull moment because the story movies forward until its climax and then brings you back down but does it so effortlessly. And pay attention to the last lines of the movie. That sums up the motivation of the white boyz in this movie. and maybe some of the white boyz out there really "acting" like this.

Andrew O. gave it a 10:
Some funny s..t.

Casey H. gave it a 10:
Whiteboyz was the best movie I have just about ever seen. It's good because it teaches people, to remember that they are themselves not someone else and the effects of not being yourself and not some gangsta rapper. It's ok to like the people but you cannot be them. Thanks p.s the music in the film rules. seeya
