Los Angeles Times Kevin Thomas

May be too heady for some tastes but can stir you deeply, if you're open to it.

TV Guide Maitland McDonagh

This sour coming of age story is a testament to his self-centeredness and dogged perseverance.

LA Weekly Nicole Campos

The strangeness is sometimes amusing, often showy, and laid on so thick that it's difficult to make the connection.

Village Voice Jessica Winter

Brimming with fatuous "clever" dialogue and gorgeous women swooning over Schaeffer-played boors, the like-sounding titles denoted a vain, smarmy Woody Allen acolyte drowning in his own reflection.

To say that this movie is true to life is only to say that it's banal, boring and confusing.

New York Post Lou Lumenick

The latest vanity production by writer-director-star Eric Schaeffer, who still seems to think he's another Woody Allen -- despite a growing body of work that proves otherwise.

Jake C. gave it an 8:
This was a great story that resonated with me in a way that standard film fare rarely accomplishes. I think that the summary provided fails to do the movie justice. This isn't about a bisexual man, it's about a man who has experienced so much and come to the conclusion that all he wants is normalcy. In spite of his impulses and weaknesses, he is seeking acceptance and commitment. These are themes that can touch every life. Wirey Spindell is Every Man.

Jim F. gave it a 9:
I liked this movie!

Michael W. gave it an 8:
Well written, acted and funny! I can't understand why the critics dont get this...

Annie W. gave it a 6:
Bi-sexual??? Someone got that review wrong... A great story about life and how your experiences (whether by your choice or thrust upon you) mold who you are. I agree with another reviewer - if you're open to what is being said, it will stir you very deeply!

David T. gave it a 7:
Contrary to popular trends, I enjoyed this movie. The characters and events are obviously "extreme" to unbelievable at times but represent well the comming of age for white men in the 70's from both the rural and urban avenues. This is not about a bisexual male though, and to think so meens you don't really understand the heterosexual male, especially one from the 70's.

Robert C. gave it a 0:
Callie Thorne ruins the movie.

Jon N. gave it a 5:
Great, smooth story-telling, very funny.
