Ultimately, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is an odd combination between Skyrim, Elden Ring, and Tears of the Kingdom that scratches a very unique itch. It might not be for everyone, but it’s certainly for someone, and it’ll be exciting to see what kind of DLC Capcom have planned for it.
Dragon's Dogma 2 feels like the first proper RPG I've played in years. Its world is captivating, filled with stories both told and waiting to be found. This is a must-play for RPG fans who've grown tired of the hand-holding nature of modern games and just want to get lost somewhere magical and quite frankly, brutal as hell.
The game is truly amazing, and I find it puzzling when people give it low ratings and complain about microtransactions. The quests are intricately detailed, making for an engaging experience. Exploring the world is fascinating, and I particularly enjoy the preparation aspect before venturing into the open world. The combat system is captivating, with each class offering a unique gameplay experience.
One drawback I've noticed is that the game was developed using an engine that isn't ideally suited for it, resulting in FPS drops when entering cities or villages.
Regarding microtransactions, they don't detract from the game's quality. Firstly, I fail to see why some people overlook similar donation features in other games from the same company, such as Resident Evil or Devil May Cry. Secondly, donations are entirely optional, and the game provides ample resources even without them.
Wow this game is amazing. Yes there are some small things people may not like but overall it’s very very good. If you take out the plague mechanic which can mess your play through up it’s almost flawless. I’ve played 90+ hours myself and have had no issues with the plague. Graphics are stellar and the gameplay is fun and addicting
Dragon's Dogma 2 is a must-have game for RPG players who want to experience a real exciting adventure. Capcom has managed to bring us the sequel the series deserves, in all its glory.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is exactly what veterans will be expecting, as double-edged as that may be, but there's simply no other action RPG experience like it.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 features good graphics, an extremely comprehensive character creation system, and highly enjoyable gameplay. Its issues do not diminish the experience, which deserves to be praised.
It walks a tightrope of intrigue that balances quirky systems, fun combat and obscure secrets with frustrating circumstances, weird world-building and curious design choices, and somehow manages to make it across, and if you embrace all it has to offer, you might too.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is outwardly hostile to its audience, embracing everything that made the original such a hassle to enjoy. A game designed with the purpose of wasting a player’s time, which makes Capcom’s “time saver” microtransactions all the more sickening. It’s a glorified xerox that you will adore if you believe Dragon’s Dogma was literally perfect when it released in 2012 and absolutely none of the progress within games development in the past twelve years meant one fucking thing. Indeed, if your idea of a good time is having a terrible time, you’ll love this malignant resurrection of ideas and implementations that should have stayed long dead.
This game is amazing and tbh i dont know why its so much hate and talk about the micro-transactions, You get all of those items ingame and early and much of it too, so the micro-transactions is not needed. The side quests are fun it can end in so many diffrent ways, The world is fun to explore alot of caves, dungeons, world bosses, Even the game mechanics are amazing like when i fought a Griffin and it try to fly away and i just grab him and went for a ride and it did lead me to its nest so i could finish him off, Give this game a chance also every playthrough will be diffrent and you will discover new quest you never done before or new locations so totally worth replaying the game.
The only thing DD2 did better than DD was graphics. Everything else is dummed down to the ground. The writing is very week, side quests extremely boring. At no point quests lead into some unsuspecting outcome. Weakest part of the game for sure. The fighting is enjoyable, but, again, dummed down - especially fights with world bosses. The most enjoyable feature in DD, climbing the big creature and attacking it's weak points is almost gone, as there is either no need in doing it because you can kill it way faster without doing that by using one of way overpowered classes (I am looking at you thieves) or you try to do that and camera messes up your pathing. It feels really bad. Balancing is another issue.
DD2 is a better looking but empty version of DD. It is soulless. By the way, DD is among 5 all time games on my list.
After 100hs of gameplay and finishing the game multiple times I can say its a well made 70usd game. I understand pc players had a lot of issues random crashes and perfimance problems this is not the case for the ps5 I didnt have a single crash or fps drop like in pc.
GOOD; graphics and wolrd desing is amazing... you have plenty of different vocations to choose from and different combat styles. Battles are the best thing about this game... exploration es really rewarded.
Bad; as playstation player camera is really bad specially in battle ... I really hated this issue im shure pc players dont have this problem with. mouse
UGLY; certain mechanics about the game are reslly janky and slow [character movement and animations can be problematic in battle conditions]
AI pawns are extremely dumb so dont expect anything meaningfull from them.
Some times perfomance can really drop[I usually get 40-60 variable fps rate]
