Despite its relative simplicity, however, the production is fully immersive, transporting, its emotional power fueled by the lyrical beauty of the language and the unfaltering command of a first-rate cast. ... It's a beguiling hybrid experiment in which a four century-old drama appears before our very eyes to dismantle and reassemble itself spontaneously as a living, breathing, timeless love story destroyed by senseless hatred.- The Hollywood Reporter

[Fashion Star falls] in to the same X Factor trap by amping up a tried-and-true format at every conceivable turn until the final product has all the subtlety of a Victoria's Secret runway show.- The Hollywood Reporter

Doomsday Preppers could have been a grade-A hour of gawker television on par with the likes of Extreme Couponing and Hoarders. Unfortunately, the inclusion of an "expert assessment" of our protagonists' preparations lands the show on thin ethical ice.- The Hollywood Reporter

Though the fast paced editing scheme manages to keep the point and click bidding from feeling as droll as Internet auctions are in real life, the relentlessly quick hits of dialog and action make the proceedings feel like a teaser rather than the actual program.- The Hollywood Reporter

You come away from the show having broadened your understanding for a sector of, yes, American life that you may not have had much contact with before. By the standards of the genre, that's about as good as it gets.- The Hollywood Reporter

There's no shortage of problems on Monster In-Laws, and the explosive promos for the show would lead you to believe that it will turn out to be little more than a Basketball Wives scream-fest in family form. Instead, producers Brent Montgomery (Pawn Stars) and Courtney Montgomery (What the Sell?!) have mercifully opted for the therapy model of reality television.- The Hollywood Reporter

While each episode builds dramatic tension as initial tips and drug dealing arrests inevitably lead to the promise of taking down a major cartel shipment, the personalities of the members of the narcotics team prove just as engaging.- The Hollywood Reporter

The drama itself comes across as a hybrid public service announcement and after school special in which each line seems crafted for maximal symbolic impact. As a result it feels more like a heavy-handed therapy session.- The Hollywood Reporter

Upcoming episodes promises the kind of drama that [executive producer SallyAnn] Solsano has boasted of capturing in Italy: knockout blows, car crashes, arrests and more drunken hook-ups. In other words, welcome back to the Jersey Shore.- The Hollywood Reporter

Despite all its shortcomings, Platinum Hit succeeds in holding your interest. First off, save for Jewel, the personalities here are quirky enough that you can't predict how they're going to interact with one another. Second, and more importantly, you find yourself wanting to hear what kind of songs they're going to write, however arbitrary the constraints that have been laid out.- The Hollywood Reporter
