Foxcatcher 81 Watch Trailer
This dark, strange, true-crime story tracks the relationship between eccentric millionaire John du Pont (Steve Carell) and Olympic wrestling champions Mark (Channing Tatum) and Dave Schultz (Mark Ruffalo). Director Bennett Miller's third feature was nominated for five Academy Awards, with critics singling out the performances of the three leads as the highlight of the film.
(Fri 3/6) The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 64 Trailer
The first installment in a two-part finale, Mockingjay is the worst-reviewed film in the series to date, following The Hunger Games and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. (It's also 2014's highest-grossing film.) The latter's Francis Lawrence returns as director, and joining him once again in the post-apocalyptic world of Panem are Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Donald Sutherland, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman in his final role (though not his final film, which will be November's upcoming second half of Mockingjay). The film picks up with Katniss reluctantly accepting the role of poster child for the rebellion, Peeta in the clutches of President Snow, and war on the horizon.

Listen Up Philip 76 Watch Trailer
Writer-director Alex Ross Perry’s follow-up to The Color Wheel is a dramedy set in a world of neurotic, egotistical, misanthropic novelists and stars Jason Schwartzman, Elisabeth Moss, and Jonathan Pryce. Critics mostly enjoyed spending time in its world, thanks especially to the film's strong performances.
Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb 47 Watch Trailer
The third (and by a single point, worst) Night at the Museum entry sends Ben Stiller’s Larry Daley to London on a quest to revitalize the magic of the life-giving tablet. Also returning are Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, and Steve Coogan, while newcomers include Dan Stevens, Rebel Wilson, and Ben Kingsley.

Annie 33 Watch Trailer
Jay Z and Will Smith produce and Will Gluck (Easy A) directs this third film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical, which now takes place in the present day rather than the Great Depression. Quvenzhané Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild) stars alongside Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, Rose Byrne, and Bobby Cannavale. The film was not much of a box office success, and it certainly didn't satisfy critics, who found it "tone-deaf" and "grating."
Exodus: Gods and Kings 52 Watch Trailer
Ridley Scott's massive-budget, effects-laden Old Testament action-adventure stars Christian (!) Bale as Moses alongside Aaron Paul, Joel Edgerton, Sigourney Weaver, Ben Kingsley, and John Turturro. Some critics liked the spectacle, others found it dull and confused, and some simply deemed it awful. (American moviegoers mainly just stayed away.) Judge for yourself in the comfort of your own home.
Top Five 81 Watch Trailer
Triple threat Chris Rock writes, directs, and stars in this look at a day in the life of an actor/comedian trying to get his life and career in order, with the result becoming Rock's best-reviewed film as writer-director. Rock’s Andre Allen attempts to balance the demands on his time made by his reality star fiancée (Gabrielle Union), his agent (Kevin Hart) and a New York Times reporter (Rosario Dawson) assigned to write a story about him. Also appearing are Cedric the Entertainer, Tracy Morgan, Ben Vereen, JB Smoove, Sherri Shepherd, Anders Holm, Romany Malco, Michael Che, and Jay Pharaoh, while Jerry Seinfeld, Whoopi Goldberg, and Adam Sandler play versions of themselves in cameos.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies 59 Watch Trailer
Peter Jackson finally wrapped up (we think) his second Middle-earth trilogy with last December's release of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies The final chapter picks up where The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug ended—with Smaug on the loose—but for Bilbo (Martin Freeman) and the other citizens of Middle Earth, the troubles are just beginning. At first glance, that Metascore may seem like the lowest for any LOTR film, but it actually is one point higher than that of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Still, critics found Five Armies a bit tedious and lacking the magic of Jackson's first trilogy.
Into the Woods 69 Watch Trailer
Though the play first debuted on Broadway in 1987, it took Hollywood unitl 2014 to bring Stephen Sondheim's dark fantasy musical to the big screen, with modestly successful results. Rob Marshall’s family-friendly adaptation features a star-studded cast—Johnny Depp, Emily Blunt, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Tracey Ullman, Christine Baranski and James Corden—in a story combining characters from multiple Grimm fairy tales. Among others, you'll find Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack (of "and the Beanstalk" fame) (Daniel Huttlestone), Rapunzel (MacKenzie Mauzy), and Cinderella (Kendrick). Streep’s character, a witch, sets the story in motion when The Baker and his wife (Corden and Blunt) wish to begin a family.
Unbroken 59 Watch Trailer
Amazing true-life stories don’t always make for great movies, a fact reinforced by Angelina Jolie’s somewhat underwhelming adaptation of Laura Hillenbrand’s book about Louis Zamperini, Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption. Joel and Ethan Coen contributed to the script (begun by William Nicholson and Richard LaGravanese), and rising star Jack O’Connell (Starred Up) plays Zamperini, who in 1936 became the youngest Olympian, at 19, to qualify for the 5000 meters and then went on to set the collegiate mile record. But becoming a sports hero is just the beginning of his story. Zamperini then enlisted in the Air Force and become a bombardier in 1941, and in 1942, was one of three survivors of a B-24 crash which led to his capture and imprisonment at multiple Japanese POW camps. Oscar nominee Roger Deakins shot the film, and Garrett Hedlund, Domhnall Gleeson, and Jai Courtney have supporting roles.

The Imitation Game 73 Watch Trailer
In this biopic from Headhunters director Morten Tyldum, Benedict Cumberbatch stars as Alan Turing, the British mathematician, computer scientist, and logician who led the team that cracked the German Enigma Code, helping the Allies win World War II. Turing’s success was short-lived, however, as he was convicted of homosexual acts in 1952 and died tragically just a few years later, well before earning a pardon from the Queen (which finally came, posthumously, last year). Joining the Oscar-nominated Cumberbatch is a very strong cast that includes Mark Strong, Matthew Goode, Charles Dance, and Keira Knightley (also an Oscar nominee). The film actually received eight Academy Award nominations in all, winning for adapted screenplay.
Interstellar 74 Watch Trailer
Christopher Nolan’s latest—and first non-Batman film in four years—is an ambitious (and long) sci-fi epic with a personal family drama at its core. Critics weren't universally blown away by Interstellar's story, though most were at least impressed by the visual spectacle. Matthew McConaughey heads the cast as a pilot asked to leave behind his kids and lead a team of explorers on a risky interstellar mission to save humanity in a desolate, near-future Earth.
Wild 76 Watch Trailer
An Oscar-nominated Reese Witherspoon stars as a recovering addict who, following a divorce, and without any prior experience, attempts a solo 1,000-mile hike of the Pacific Crest Trail on a whim. This true story is adapted from Cheryl Strayed's memoir by Nick Hornby (High Fidelity) and is directed by Jean-Marc Vallée (Dallas Buyers Club). Laura Dern (another Oscar nominee) co-stars.
