Below are all new and returning primetime shows expected to air during the 2016-17 television season (beginning with the summer of 2016). Metascores, premiere dates, and renewal status will be updated daily throughout the season as necessary.

5/31: Quarry (Cinemax) canceled after 1 season.

5/30: Underground (WGN) canceled after 2 seasons. WGN will no longer develop original scripted programming.

5/25: HBO has renewed comedies Silicon Valley and Veep.

5/24: The Get Down (Netflix) canceled after 1 season.

5/23: Variety reports that HBO and Jon Stewart have mutually agreed to cancel their planned topical animated series, which was originally set to launch last fall, after learning that "timely" and "animation" aren't compatible.

5/23: Season 1 of The President Show (Comedy Central) extended by 7 episodes.

5/23: Amazon has ordered a series adaptation of the 2011 girl assassin thriller Hanna from that film's co-writer, David Farr (The Night Manager).

5/23: Chicago Justice (NBC) canceled after 1 season.

5/20: NBC has given a late renewal to first-year comedy Trial & Error, which will return for a 10-episode 2nd season next year.

5/19: Freeform has ordered 13 episodes of the black-ish spinoff College-ish, revolving around Yara Shahidi's character Zoey, to debut in 2018.

5/19: Animals (HBO) renewed for a 3rd season.

5/19: East Los High (Hulu) canceled after 4 seasons. A one-hour special will stream this fall to wrap up the story.

5/18: Netflix has ordered 10 episodes of puppet fantasy series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, serving as a prequel to Jim Henson's 1982 film. It should stream in 2018.

5/18: The CW has announced its fall schedule and 4 new shows for the 2017-18 season.

5/17: There's finally some good news on the delayed CBS All Access project Star Trek: Discovery. Its still-unscheduled first season has been extended to 15 episodes. Expect a fall debut.

5/17: United Shades of America (CNN) renewed for a 3rd season.

5/17: CBS has announced its fall schedule and 8 new shows for the 2017-18 season. Missing from the schedule are Training Day, Pure Genius, and Ransom, which are now presumed to be canceled officially canceled.

5/17: Arrested Development (Netflix) renewed for a 5th season. The entire cast will return for the new episodes, which will stream in 2018.

5/17: Netlix has ordered a new series based on The Witcher fantasy books by Andrzej Sapowski (which are the source of the videogame franchise of the same name).

5/17: TNT has ordered two new current events docuseries for next season: Michael Moore Live from the Apocalypse, and the Sarah Jessica Parker/Morgan Spurlock collaboration Who Run the World?.

5/17: TBS has renewed late-night talk show Conan through 2022. The network has also ordered several new comedies, including a new untitled series from viral video trio The Dress Up Gang, Lorne Michaels-produced comedy anthology The Miracle Workers (a heaven-set workplace comedy starring Daniel Radcliffe and Owen Wilson), and Close Enough (an adult-targeted animated series from Regular Show creator J.G. Quintel).

5/16: HBO has ordered 10 episodes of the new horror anthology Lovecraft Country, an adaptation of Matt Ruff's novel from Jordan Peele (Get Out) and Misha Green (Underground).

5/16: ABC has announced its fall schedule and 13 new shows for the 2017-18 season, and has also confirmed that it will air new revivals of classic sitcom Roseanne and former Fox hit American Idol.

5/16: The Young Pope (HBO) will not return for a 2nd season, but taking its place is a new miniseries, The New Pope, which will feature a mostly (or entirely) different cast (and, obviously, a different Pope). One thing it will share with the original show is creator Paolo Sorrentino.

5/15: Quantico (ABC) renewed for a 13-episode 3rd season.

5/15: The Odd Couple (CBS) canceled.

5/15: Fox has announced its fall schedule and 6 new shows for the 2017-18 season.

5/15: Scream Queens (Fox) canceled.

5/14: Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders (CBS) canceled.

5/14: Code Black (CBS) renewed for a 3rd season.

5/14: NBC has announced its fall schedule and 12 new shows for the 2017-18 season.

5/14: New Girl (Fox) renewed for a 7th and final season.

5/14: NBC has omitted Chicago Justice or Trial and Error from its 2017-18 lineup, though the network could still opt to renew one or both. A final decision is expected later this month.

5/13: CBS has renewed Elementary and The Amazing Race.

5/13: The Great Indoors (CBS) canceled after 1 season.

5/13: NBC has reversed its decision to cancel Timeless. The show will now return for a 10-episode 2nd season in 2018.

5/13: NBC has ordered Champions, a new comedy from Mindy Kaling starring Anders Holm.

5/13: Baby Daddy (Freeform) canceled. The May 22 episode will serve as a series finale.

5/12: ABC has ordered the Greg Berlanti drama Deception (about a crime-solving magician) and the rom-com Splitting Up Together for next season.

5/12: 2 Broke Girls (CBS) canceled.

5/12: Law & Order: SVU (NBC) renewed for a 19th season.

5/12: The Exorcist (Fox) renewed for a 2nd season.

5/12: CBS has ordered the new comedy By the Book, about a man (Jay R. Ferguson) who decides to live his life according to the Bible.

5/12: The Son (AMC) renewed for a 2nd season.

5/12: ABC has renewed comedies Speechless and Fresh Off the Boat.

5/12: CBS has announced its second batch of newcomers for 2017-18 (following the previously announced Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon): comedy Me, Myself and I (tracing one man's life in three time periods, played by John Larroquette, Bobby Moynihan, and a kid), Mark Feuerstein comedy 9JKL, Jeremy Piven-led crime procedural Wisdom of the Crowd, James Patterson crime novel adaptation Instinct, the self-explanatory action drama SEAL Team, and a remake of the crime series S.W.A.T.

5/12: Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Fox) renewed for a 5th season.

5/12: NBC's latest 2017-18 series order is the virtual reality drama Reverie. Sarah Shahi and Dennis Haysbert will star. (Look for full details on all of NBC's new shows this Sunday.)

5/12: The Blacklist: Redemption (NBC) canceled after 1 season.

5/12: Notorious (ABC) is now officially canceled after 1 season.

5/12: ABC has renewed reality shows The Bachelor, Dancing With the Stars, and Shark Tank.

5/11: The unoffical cancellation of Powerless (NBC) is now official.

5/11: ABC has canceled American Crime, The Catch, Dr. Ken, Imaginary Mary, The Real O'Neals, and Secrets and Lies.

5/11: ABC has renewed American Housewife, black-ish, Designated Survivor, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Once Upon a Time. The latter will likely have a major cast shake-up for its 7th season.

5/11: ABC has announced six series pickups for next season: political thriller The Crossing, Shonda Rhimes' legal drama For the People, House creator David Shore's latest medical drama The Good Doctor, guy-talks-to-god feel-good drama The Gospel of Kevin, musical comedy The Mayor (about an aspiring rapper who runs for mayor), and an untitled Zach Braff series based on the Gimlet Media podcast StartUp.

5/11: NBC has added the moms-turned-robbers comedy Good Girls to its 2017-18 lineup. Mae Whitman and Retta star.

5/11: Great News (NBC) renewed for a 13-episode 2nd season.

5/11: The Goldbergs (ABC) renewed for 2 additional seasons, the show's 5th and 6th.

5/11: American Gods (Starz) renewed for a 2nd season.

5/11: Fox has canceled first-year shows APB, Making History, and Son of Zorn.

5/11: The previously announced 2nd season of The Shannara Chronicles will now air on Spike this fall rather than MTV.

5/11: The Blacklist (NBC) renewed for a 5th season.

5/10: Fox has renewed The Last Man on Earth and Gotham. Each will return for a 4th season.

5/10: The CW has renewed iZombie and The Originals.

5/10: Last Man Standing (ABC) canceled after 6 seasons.

5/10: The CW has added two more dramas to its 2017-18 lineup: Black Lightning (yet another Greg Berlanti-produced DC Comics series) and Life Sentence (starring Lucy Hale as a terminal cancer patient who finds out she isn't dying after all).

5/10: Modern Family (ABC) renewed for 2 additional seasons, the show's 9th and 10th.

5/10: NBC has renewed 3 of its 4 Chicago dramas, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. The fate of the 4th (Chicago Justice) remains up in the air.

5/10: Timeless (NBC) canceled after 1 season.

5/10: Blindspot (NBC) renewed for a 3rd season.

5/10: The CW has ordered a reboot of the 1980s primetime soap Dynasty from the creators of Gossip Girl for next season. The network has also given a series order to military thriller Valor.

5/10: Bypassing its usual pilot process, Amazon has ordered 8 episodes of big-budget fantasy drama Carnival Row from Rene Echevarria. It won't stream until 2019.

5/10: Fox has added medical drama The Resident to its 2017-18 lineup. Emily VanCamp and Matt Czuchry will star.

5/10: Scandal (ABC) will end with the upcoming season 7, reports TVLine.

5/10: Fox has added two comedies for the 2017-18 season: Ghosted, a paranormal investigation spoof starring Adam Scott and Craig Robinson, and LA>Vegas, a Will Ferrell-produced series set mainly onboard a plane.

5/10: FXX has ordered 10 episodes of the tentatively titled Marvel's Deadpool, an adult-targeted animated series from Donald Glover.

5/9: Sleepy Hollow (Fox) canceled after 4 seasons.

5/9: Fox has officially ordered X-Men drama series The Gifted for a fall debut.

5/9: Taken (NBC) renewed for a 2nd season, which will be longer (at 16 episodes rather than 10).

5/9: American Idol has been revived (after just one year off the air), but will move to ABC next season.

5/9: Rosewood (Fox) canceled after 2 seasons.

5/8: The CW has canceled first-year dramas Frequency and No Tomorrow.

5/8: NBC has added the Seth Meyers-produced high school comedy series A.P. Bio to its 2017-18 lineup. Glenn Howerton and Patton Oswalt star.

5/8: Amazon has ordered 6 episodes of comedy The Dangerous Book for Boys, from Bryan Cranston and Greg Mottola.

5/7: 13 Reasons Why (Netflix) renewed for a 2nd season.

5/4: NBC has added 2 shows for 2017-18: military drama For God and Country and Jason Katims' high school musical drama Rise.

5/4: Emerald City (NBC) canceled after 1 season.

5/4: The Chris Gethard Show has been renewed for a 16-episode 3rd season, but will move from Fusion to truTV and will switch to a live format.

5/3: The Handmaid's Tale (Hulu) renewed for a 2nd season. The streaming service as also ordered a new live-action Marvel series, Marvel’s Runaways, and a sci-fi drama about Mars colonization, The First, from House of Cards creator Beau Willimon. All will debut in 2018.

5/1: Pitch (Fox) canceled after 1 season.

5/1: You the Jury (Fox) canceled after 2 episodes.

5/1: Hap and Leonard (Sundance) renewed for a 6-episode 3rd season.

5/1: Freakish (Hulu) renewed for a 2nd season.

4/28: Sweet/Vicious (MTV) canceled after 1 season.

4/27: The Quad (BET) renewed for a 2nd season. In addition, VH1 dramas The Breaks and Hit the Floor have each been renewed and will move to BET next season.

4/27: Z: The Beginning of Everything (Amazon) renewed for a 2nd season.

4/27: Ingobernable (Netflix) renewed for a 2nd season.

4/25: Into the Badlands (AMC) renewed for an expanded (16-episode) 3rd season, to air in 2018.

4/25: Powerless (NBC) has been pulled from the schedule with several episodes left to go.

4/25: The Detour (TBS) renewed for a 3rd season, to air in 2018.

4/24: When Calls the Heart (Hallmark) renewed for a 5th season.

4/21: Shadowhunters (Freeform) renewed for a 3rd season.

4/20: The X-Files (Fox) renewed for a 10-episode 11th season.

4/20: Younger (TV Land) renewed for a 5th season ahead of its S4 debut this summer. The network has also picked up a 20-episode 3rd season of Teachers, to air in 2018 (after the 2nd half of S2 airs this fall).

4/19: Genius (Nat Geo) renewed for a 2nd season ahead of next week's series premiere.

4/19: Snatch (Crackle) renewed for a 2nd season. The network also renewed SuperMansion for a 3rd season.

4/18: Patriot (Amazon) renewed for a 2nd season.

4/17: Imposters (Bravo) renewed for a 2nd season.

4/17: Fox will turn Showtime at the Apollo into a regular weekly series beginning this fall.

4/14: Star Wars Rebels (Disney XD) will end with the upcoming 4th season, to air this fall.

4/14: Fear the Walking Dead (AMC) renewed for a 4th season.

4/14: Outsiders (WGN) canceled after 2 seasons.

4/13: The Arrangement (E!) renewed for a 2nd season.

4/12: The Path (Hulu) renewed for a 3rd season.

4/12: The Magicians (Syfy) renewed for a 3rd season.

4/12: Grace and Frankie (Netflix) renewed for a 4th season.

4/10: Nashville (CMT) renewed for a 6th season.

4/10: Netflix has ordered 10 episodes of a new horror series based on Shirley Jackson's novel The Haunting of Hill House.

4/10: Amazon has given a 2-season order to Amy Sherman-Palladino’s new series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Read reviews of the pilot episode.

4/7: Criminal Minds (CBS) renewed for a 13th season.

4/5: New Warriors, the first comedy set in the Marvel universe (centering on Squirrel Girl), has been given a 10-episode order by Freeform and will air in 2018.

4/5: Brockmire (IFC) renewed for a 2nd season ahead of its series premiere.

4/4: Man Seeking Woman (FXX) canceled after 3 seasons.

4/4: Colony (USA) renewed for a 3rd season.

4/4: A Series of Unfortunate Events (Netflix), which was renewed for a 2nd season last month, has now been extended through season 3.

4/3: Falling Water (USA) renewed for a 2nd season.

4/1: Kingdom (Audience Network) canceled. The upcoming 3rd season will be the show's last.

3/29: ABC has yanked new drama Time After Time from its schedule mid-season, effectively cancelling the series.

3/29: The Mindy Project (Hulu) renewed for a 6th and final season, to launch in September.

3/29: Santa Clarita Diet (Netflix) renewed for a 2nd season, to stream in 2018.

3/28: Dream Corp LLC (Adult Swim) renewed for a 2nd season.

3/28: NBC has ordered 6 episodes of new competition series The Handmade Project, to be hosted by Nick Offerman and Amy Poehler, for next season.

3/28: Humans (AMC) has been renewed for a 10-episode 3rd season, to air in 2018.

3/27: Hulu has ordered I Love You, America, a weekly topical talk show hosted by Sarah Silverman.

3/27: Amazon has ordered a new series from Moonlight writer-director Barry Jenkins. The Underground Railroad will be based on Colson Whitehead's novel (and will bypass Amazon's normal pilot process).

3/23: Lucifer (Fox) will have its current season truncated by 4 episodes, but those episodes will air in the fall as part of a longer-than-normal season 3.

3/23: The Knick (Cinemax) has now been officially canceled after 2 seasons.

3/23: CBS has renewed 16 series for next season: 48 Hours, 60 Minutes, Blue Bloods, Bull, Hawaii Five-0, Kevin Can Wait, Life in Pieces, MacGyver, Madam Secretary, Man With a Plan, Mom, NCIS: LA, NCIS New Orleans, Scorpion, Superior Donuts, and Survivor. What's not on the list? New sitcom The Great Indoors, not-so-new sitcoms 2 Broke Girls and The Odd Couple, drama Code Black, and procedurals Criminal Minds (plus its spinoff) and Elementary. Final decisions have not been made on this latter group, and some could still earn a renewal.

3/20: Shut Eye (Hulu) renewed for a 2nd season.

3/20: The Big Bang Theory (CBS) renewed for 2 additional seasons, the show's 11th and 12th.

3/20: Detroiters (Comedy Central) renewed for a 2nd season.

3/17: Shades of Blue (NBC) renewed for a 3rd season.

3/16: The Expanse (Syfy) renewed for a 13-episode 3rd season, to air in 2018.

3/16: America's Next Top Model (VH1) renewed for a 24th season (it's 2nd since leaving the CW).

3/16: FX has ordered yet another Ryan Murphy series. Pose, a non-anthology drama examining different segments of society in 1986 New York, will launch in 2018.

3/16: 12 Monkeys (Syfy) renewed for a 4th and final season.

3/15: Crashing (HBO) renewed for a 2nd season.

3/15: The Good Fight (CBS All Access) renewed for a 2nd season.

3/15: Legion (FX) renewed for a 2nd season.

3/14: Big Hero 6 (Disney XD) renewed for a 2nd season ahead of its fall debut.

3/13: CBS has ordered The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon for next season.

3/13: A Series of Unfortunate Events (Netflix) has been renewed for a 2nd season.

3/10: Mr Robot's (USA) 3rd season has been pushed back to October.

3/10: The 100 (CW) renewed for a 5th season.

3/10: Schitt’s Creek (Pop) renewed for a 4th season.

3/9: Mercy Street (PBS) canceled after 2 seasons.

3/9: Baskets (FX) renewed for a 3rd season.

3/8: Billions (Showtime) renewed for a 3rd season.

3/8: Taboo (FX) renewed for an 8-episode 2nd season.

3/7: Riverdale (CW) renewed for a 2nd season.

3/7: The Night Manager (AMC) looks like it will return for a 2nd season, though it is not yet official. (It is currently in development.)

3/4: One Day at a Time (Netflix) renewed for a 2nd season.

3/3: Star Wars Rebels (Disney XD) renewed for a 4th season, to air this fall.

3/1: Eyewitness (USA) canceled after 1 season.

2/28: Feud (FX) renewed ahead of its series premiere this weekend. Next year's 2nd season will focus on the ending of the marriage between Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

2/27: Showtime has ordered a 2nd season of political documentary series The Circus, to focus on the Trump administration's first 100 days. It debuts in March.

2/27: Incorporated (Syfy) canceled after 1 season.

2/27: Drama series Fortitude, which was renewed for a 2nd season by Pivot but has been unable to air since Pivot has ceased broadcasting, is jumping to Amazon. The 2nd season will stream later this year.

2/24: Doubt (CBS) canceled after just 2 episodes aired; future episodes have been pulled from the schedule.

2/23: Six (History) renewed for a 10-episode 2nd season.

2/22: Star (Fox) renewed for a 2nd season.

2/22: Lethal Weapon (Fox) renewed for a 2nd season.

2/21: The Mick (Fox) renewed for a 2nd season.

2/16: The Royals (E!) renewed for a 4th season.

2/15: The previously announced 3rd season of Outlander (Starz) won't begin until September.

2/15: Goliath (Amazon) renewed for a 2nd season.

2/14: Superstore (NBC) renewed for a 22-episode 3rd season.

2/14: Amazon has ordered 10 episodes of Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams, a sci-fi anthology based on Dick's short stories, from Battlestar Galactica's Ronald D. Moore and Bryan Cranston.

2/13: Lucifer (Fox) renewed for a 3rd season.

2/10: ABC has renewed all three of its "TGIT" dramas, Grey's Anatomy, How to Get Away With Murder, and Scandal.

2/9: MTV has canceled first-year comedies Loosely Exactly Nicole and Mary + Jane.

2/9: Channel Zero (Syfy) renewed for 2 additional seasons (its 3rd and 4th) ahead of its 2nd season premiere.

2/9: Trollhunters (Netflix) renewed for a 2nd season, to stream later this year.

2/8: Amazon has ordered 10 episodes of Too Old To Die Young, a new drama series from Nicolas Winding Refn.

2/8: Travelers (Netflix) renewed for a 2nd season.

2/8: Love (Netflix) renewed for a 3rd season a month prior to its 2nd season debut.

2/8: The OA (Netflix) renewed for a 2nd season.

2/2: Please Like Me (Hulu) canceled after 4 seasons.

2/2: Skylanders Academy (Netflix) renewed for a 3rd season ahead of 2nd season premiere.

2/1: Cold Justice, which aired for three seasons on TNT (ending in 2015), has been revived by Oxygen for new episodes beginning this summer.

1/31: Night Train with Wyatt Cenac (Seeso) renewed for a 2nd season.

1/30: The Good Place (NBC) renewed for a 13-episode 2nd season.

1/30: So You Think You Can Dance (Fox) renewed for a 14th season, which will return to the show's original format.

1/30: OWN has canceled the sitcoms Love Thy Neighbor and For Better or Worse. Each one will air one final season this year.

1/30: Mozart in the Jungle (Amazon) renewed for a 4th season.

1/30: Red Oaks (Amazon) renewed for a 3rd and final season, to stream later in 2017.

1/25: The upcoming 5th season of Young & Hungry (Freeform) has been extended by 10 episodes (to 20 total).

1/25: The Middle (ABC) renewed for a 9th season.

1/24: Netflix is rebooting Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. The reality series originally ran on Bravo for 100 episodes beginning in 2003.

1/24: The Librarians (TNT) renewed for a 4th season.

1/24: Top Chef (Bravo) renewed for a 15th season.

1/23: Amazon has canceled Highston, a new comedy previously ordered to series that had been expected to debut this year.

1/19: Sneaky Pete (Amazon) renewed for a 2nd season.

1/18: This Is Us (NBC) renewed for 2 additional seasons, its 2nd and 3rd.

1/18: Major Crimes (TNT) renewed for a shorter (13-episode) 6th season.

1/18: NBC has ordered a 10-episode revival of sitcom Will & Grace for next season.

1/18: Season 1 of new game show The Wall (NBC) has been extended by 20 episodes.

1/14: Portlandia (IFC) will return for an 8th and final season in 2018.

1/14: Good Behavior (TNT) renewed for a 2nd season, to air this fall.

1/13: Nobodies (TV Land) renewed for a 2nd season ahead of its series debut in March.

1/13: Mars (Nat Geo) renewed for a 2nd season.

1/12: The 2nd season of Atlanta (FX) has been delayed to 2018 due to Donald Glover's film schedule.

1/12: FX has extended the renewal for American Horror Story by two additional seasons, meaning the show will now run through season 9 in 2019.

1/11: Fox is reviving the classic dating show Love Connection as a summer series hosted by Andy Cohen.

1/11: Empire (Fox) renewed for a 4th season.

1/11: Fox has picked up an extra 4 episodes for new comedy The Mick.

1/11: Fox announced that both Wayward Pines and X-Files could return in the future, though neither will air this year.

1/10: Beyond (Freeform) renewed for a 2nd season.

1/10: The Fosters (Freeform) renewed for a 5th season.

1/9: The Affair (Showtime) renewed for a 4th season.

1/8: The CW has given early renewals to all 7 of its returning fall shows: Arrow, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Flash, Jane the Virgin, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and Supernatural. A decision has not yet been made on the network's remaining programs.

1/6: CBS has extended new sitcoms Great Indoors and Man With a Plan by three episodes each (to 22 total) and Kevin Can Wait by an extra two episodes (to 24).

1/5: Those Who Can't (truTV) renewed for a 3rd season.

1/5: Girl Meets World (Disney) canceled after 3 seasons.

1/3: The Man in the High Castle (Amazon) renewed for a 3rd season.

12/24: Fuller House (Netflix) renewed for a 3rd season.

12/20: Blunt Talk (Starz) canceled after 2 seasons.

12/19: Shooter (USA) renewed for a 2nd season.

12/19: Take My Wife (Seeso) renewed for a 2nd season.

12/19: Shameless (Showtime) renewed for a 12-episode 8th season.

12/15: Haters Back Off (Netflix) renewed for a 2nd season.

12/13: ABC has extended the current seasons of Black-ish, The Goldbergs, Speechless, Fresh Off the Boat, The Middle, and American Housewife to 23 (or, for the first two on the list, 24) episodes each.

12/13: Salem (WGN) canceled after 3 seasons. The remaining 5 episodes will wrap up the story.

12/13: Impastor (TV Land) canceled after 2 seasons.

12/13: TBS has renewed its new comedies Search Party and People of Earth. Each will air a 10-episode 2nd season in 2017.

12/13: Stan Against Evil (IFC) renewed for a 2nd season.

12/12: Marco Polo (Netflix) canceled after 2 seasons. It's the first Netflix original series to be canceled so soon.
