Based on the upcoming Japanese remake of an earlier Attack on Titan game, Humanity in Chains will be the first Attack on Titan game to reach North American shores, and will release exclusively on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS in early 2015 with the original Japanese audio and English subtitles.

The features for Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains include:

-Story Mode: As a member of the elite Scout Regiment, defending the outer walls from the Titans will push players to their very limits to save humanity. Enhanced Titan AI behavior will sap every ounce of ability from players as they make a last stand for the human race.
-Familiar Characters, New Customizations: Eren Jaeger, Mikasa Ackermann and others will be familiar faces for players as they pick their favorite Scout member to defend the Walls. Several new additions will join the Scout Regiment, customizable with costumes, weapons and voices.
-Online Co-op Mode: Defend the outer walls with up to three friends in the all-new online co-op mode with ranking and leaderboards.
-Fresh Look: Updates to the UI, improvements in gameplay balance and support for the Circle Pad Pro and the C Stick on the New Nintendo 3DS XL take Humanity in Chains to the next level.

An underwhelming presentation and an unwieldily camera make it a tougher sell for non-fans, but if you're willing to overlook those flaws, unchaining humanity can be a blast.

Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains is not a bad game; however, it's really far from becoming the game that the fans could wish for. It's really easy to learn the basic controls, and the movement mechanics is really something else, but apart from that it becomes so repetitive and lacks any really replay value.
  3. 60
Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains has some good ideas in its robust World Mode, but monotonous gameplay and a half-hearted Story Mode lessen its overall value.

While it was nice to get some freedom with the Omni-Directional Maneuver gear and to play with some new items in World Mode, the missions bogged down the fun.

Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains is further proof that the seemingly obvious genre for an anime-to-game adaptation isn't always the best one.

In the end, Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains is precisely the kind of Anime game that many expected it to be: a quick and uninspired cash-in that tries to utilize its source material to hide the boring and sparse gameplay within.

When the best part of your game is leaving the title screen up to repeatedly watch the anime’s intro sequence and hear that operatic battle cry of an anthem, you’ve done bad. What a disappointment. But honestly, with the reputation licensed games have, I can't say I'm surprised.

ForI've been a fan of the Attack On Titan Tribute Game for about a year now, and was looking forward to a good portable Attack On Titan game. For fans in the United States: I really like this game. It gets a few things wrong, but it gets so much right. I give it a 9 out of 10 simply because I would have liked to have seen the L and R shoulders used to shoot hooks. Other than that, the game is amazing, and I look forward to playing it a ton. Expand

It was everything I expected in a weirdly addictive way. It has the same appeal to me that games like Flappy Birds and Temple Run did. The gameplay was fun and simple enough but because the game was so short I found myself replaying the game over and over again. When I see the word replay-ability when it comes to games I will now mention this.
The physics and overall mobility of the game feel not far off from the rush I got when playing Spider-Man 2 on my old PS2. The game is very simplistic and easy to learn within a few minutes but has enough charm to hold me for hours at a time.
As for the flaws I believe it is too short and could of benefited from a endless mode or something along those lines (for single player). The characters included are good but I feel like there were more that could've been included along side a few more missions out of them.
In the end I enjoyed this game and will continue to flip my 3DS open and give it a go whenever I'm next in an airport or waiting on a bus.

The story mode quite a disappointment but then you have world mode which is really great it has an extra weapon on top of that,it changes the game into a more rpg like game.
so overall the game is o.k if they fix the critical system then the combat would improve and maybe be accepted.
