Recruit hired gunners to back you up in battle, and then roll into fights and high-speed chases and take down waves of enemies as Dillon—the "Red Flash" himself. Eighty years ago, a cataclysmic event devastated the world. Holed up in "The City" and outlying frontier towns, no survivor is safe now that a mysterious ship has unleashed an army of supercharged monsters. So, prepare for battle: gather resources by helping local businesses and winning races. Then stock up, man the towers, and strengthen barricades to protect each village's livestock! Discover new strategies to take out over 30 different types of enemies: some swim, some dig, some are electrified, poisonous, armored—even flying. Monsters transform into wheeled forms, racing into action-packed, high-speed chases. [Nintendo] Expand

"Dillon’s Dead Heat Breakers is a great title unfortunately released during a mass exodus from the 3DS to the Switch. It’s a shame because Dillon and his pal Russ are a great set of characters and the world they live in definitely could be explored even further but likely won’t, as this series never really took off the way I think Nintendo hoped it would. "Dillon and his adorable little hamster friend Russ roll back into the Tower Defence scene with fresh and futuristic tale of Western adventure. Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers builds on the previous games, heightening the action with intense races and expands the universe with an intriguing cast of characters/recruits. There is a steep learning curve and a lot of investment needed into the main tower defence gameplay, but it is worth rolling into in order to save those adorable Scrog critters." ... Read full review

"Despite its issues, Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers is a solid recommendation for 3DS owners looking for something new. Its bold and unorthodox setting makes for an experience unlike any Nintendo game before it, while its odd mashup of different genres makes it especially rewarding for open-minded gamers. It might lack the depth of other single-genre titles, but Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers makes up for it with uniqueness and furry-filled charm." ... Read full review

"Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers is by far the best entry in the Dillon's franchise, with many new features that try to justify the full retail price. Sadly, despite the various new mechanics introduced, the main issue with the previous entries hasn't been fixed: the gameplay can be too repetitive." ... Read full review

"Dillon’s Dead-Heat Breakers is a welcome return for the Red Flash, but sees the muted armadillo roll back into our lives with an inconsistent gameplay experience that has many flashes of thrilling brilliance that are let down by an otherwise heavily repetitive setup." ... Read full review

"Building on the two previous games, Dillon’s Dead-Heat Breakers has some new stuff to offer, and the characters and world it depicts are compelling. But still, it’s a messy and repetitive game. " ... Read full review

It's a very great improvement from the previous two games. Can't wait for a Switch game from Dillon.

Good mix of driving and action in an tower defense setting, embedded in a story with a couple of fun minigames (racing, tron-style shooting, sorting rubbish, running a shop). The money you earn in the mini games is spend on riflemen for the tower defense, right before defending you gather materials to strengthen the towers. A lot of game mechanics intersected into each other, what makes the fun run for hours. I play it at least 60min once I start it and play it for 16 hours now and don't think that I made it to the half. The 3D is well integrated. It's a strong challenge, but managable. One of my favourites on the 3DS. Expand

The annoying squeak of the characters mixed with fetch quests at a snails pace, when there actual fun in the game somewhere just ruined this for me. Expand
