As a timewaster, Frogger 3D is perfectly fine. As a retail-priced game, however, it is lacking.
It's not a perfect game, and one that will do itself favors by staying at a budget price, but it's easy to recommend to die-hard Frogger fans, or anyone else looking for a quick fix of fun on their 3DS.
When the game sticks to this classic(yet variety-filled)formula of quick action and quick reflexes, it's pretty fun. [Sept 2011, p.73]
Frogger 3D balances interesting, clever level designs that will make you want to keep playing just to see more with infuriating cheap shots and a ridiculous difficulty curve that will make you never want to play again.
The only good thing here is the endless retro mode - a fleeting thrill only. [Feb 2012, p.101]
Taking a simple formula and injecting it with cruelty is rarely a good way to win new fans. Frustration, thy spirit animal is a digital frog.
A game with nothing to offer the world but boredom and irritation in equal measure, and isn't worth playing even for those who are desperate to flesh out their 3DS library.
