Its gameplay is more adapted than ever to portable experience: the modes are fast-paced, and Party Guest lets us enjoy the full multiplayer with just one copy of the game. But it has too few minigames, and the game becomes repetitive quickly.
I really liked this game, the gameplay moves fast and doesn’t get boring. The 3d effect is nice and the minigames were great as well. The character selection is stellar and the board’s are fun. The amount of modes is big and I love the ally system. This game really pushed itself in experimenting with new ideas, and I think it really paid off. The museum is beautiful, music has a lot of charm and the challenge tower is quite hard!
Mario Party Star Rush gets rid of a few bad ideas from the previous games in the series, but it just doesn’t have the staying power to keep players come back for more week after week.
Mario Party: Star Rush may not excel in many ways, but it addresses some complaints from past entries and delivers some harmless entertainment. We're not sure you should rush out to buy it, but it still shows that Mario and company can be stars of a party.
Trying to fit a square peg to a round hole is a tough job. So is digitizing a board game and trying to sell it for a full price. Mario Party Star Rush is decent multiplayer fun, but it should be a mobile game that's sold for a few bucks. [Nov 2016]
This is the first Mario Party game I can enjoy all the way through WITHOUT friends. With friends it's an absolute blast and everyone moving at the same time makes the games move quicker, skipping the time of boredom, waiting for others to move. With so many new modes there is a lot of variety here too. The best Mario Party by far, I think.
When I saw this game for the 3DS I said: "Wow, I'll play it and see if this game will fix the curse of other Mario Party game that would be Mario Party 9, Mario Party 10 and Island Tour." But I made a mistake in those words and he did the same as the rest, my question would be "what happened?", the problem is that the game still does not comply with the rules of its origins, well the minigames and the multiplayer will continue to be the important pillar of the game, but I'm talking about its gameplay, the game is focused as a duel (very similar to Mario Party 3) but this would be the main game to win, and I am disappointed that they have ruined one of Nintendo's beloved franchises, goodbye and I prefer forget this game.
Nintendo has officially run out of ideas. The concept of this game is garbage. It may be better than the recent Mario Party 9, 10 and Island tour, but this game is still bad. I can't give this game a good review. I endured the game for several hours, before selling it after only 1 week. I have lost hope in Mario Party, and what a shame because this franchise had amazing games.
