Batman: The Enemy Within is Telltale at their best, and The Pact simply continues to prove why.
Batman: The Enemy Within - Episode 2 'The Pact' is yet another fantastic episode in this series. It was going to be hard to top the greatness of season one, but if these first two episodes are any indication, we might be in for one of Telltale's best yet. The action, drama, characters, and story are all firing on all cylinders and fans of Batman owe it to themselves to check this series out.
It may be shorter, but The Pact is an exciting session almost entirely devoted to Bruce Wayne chatting with some of the best Batman villains around and trying to get on their good side. If this were a TV show I’d be in rapt attention.
Episode 2 – The Pact moves the series’ story forward nicely, confronting players with interesting, serious moral dilemmas. Well-rounded, complex characters continue to be added to the mix, providing the potential for an excellent narrative conclusion.
In The Pact, it's time to learn something more about the good and the bad guys we are going to deal with for the rest of the series, but the episode feels very slow-paced and forgets about half of the gameplay mechanics we saw in Episode 1.
Telltale has struggled to tell an interesting story with this episode. A very slow-paced chapter where only the new villains shine.
But where Telltale’s best adventures make you feel like your choices matter, ‘The Pact’ fails miserably in that department.
