It is populated with characters reminiscent of Jhonen Vasquez’s illustrations, combined with a gothic and botanical bestiary that calls Hollow Knight to mind. The writing, though, is sparse and unsettling, not quite void of humour but nor silly in the way one might expect. The overall effect is darkly, fascinatingly cute: mall-goth meets folk horror, and the perfect set dressing for elegant, sharp gameplay. Cult of the Lamb has already amassed over a million sales in the first week of its crusade, for good reason. There’s little doubt that the flock will only continue to grow.
Cult of the Lamb is a masterpiece of an action roguelike game. It's fun, engaging, has a beautiful but brutal aesthetic, and is absolutely worth a playthrough. It's missing some replayability in my eyes, but it's overall a stellar title.
Cult of the Lamb is honestly, one of my favourite games of all time. The artstyle is simply amazing, along with the story (which sadly isn't too expanded yet).
all the different characters, and interactions with your followers made me love it, the moment i first opened it.
i love how you can choose, how you wish to treat your servants. you can either (try) to be a merciful god, or you can imprison and sacrifice anyone who looked weirdly at you.
and the fact tgat you can marry your enemies, after you rob them out of their godhood and enslave them is just 10/10 pls buy it its a good game trust me
While it lasted, Cult of the Lamb was a darkly enlightening experience that wholly delivers on the premise of its cutesy horror genre-mash-up. For the many who have been eagerly anticipating its release, that faith has been rewarded.
I really can’t give enough praise to the team at Massive Monster for creating something unique and memorable, and also one of the best indie games I’ve played in a long time. Sure, there's a few rough edges, but this charmingly bloodthirsty lamb that's hell-bent on slaying the unbaalievers has earned a special place in my heart.
Cult of the Lamb is both wicked and wonderful, with a lovely visual aesthetic to boot. Underneath its adorable veneer lies a game that is full of sinister surprises. As someone who doesn’t particularly prefer roguelikes, Cult of the Lamb’s innovative genre-splicing has made me a convert. I am eager to see what additional post-launch content Massive Monsters has planned.
Cult of the Lamb realmente é um dos meus jogos preferidos.
A very beautiful game, but with some flaws that didn't make me fully appreciate it like Hades. Unfortunately, the randomness of the weapons and the repetitiveness of the follower system ruin its potential. Gorgeous designs and colors!
After the updates, which fixed the technical problems, they unfortunately added some new enemies, which are basically impossible to beat, unless you have certain weapons equipped.
Weapons, being randomly generated, can't be chosen, so adding in enemies that require you to just quit a dungeon until you get the right one, so that it doesn't take ten minues to kill a minor enemy, just feels like an obnoxious game design decision.
A huge shame, really because it was a great game that I was looking forward to playing through after the technical patches fixed the old issues. They did... And added all new gameplay design issues in their place.
