  1. Asphalt: Urban GT 2 is a fun and visually impressive arcade-style racer, even if it is just an evolutionary upgrade of the original game.
  2. Though the game is gussied up with smooth visuals (and again, the Pussycat Dolls), the incredible ease of each and every event ultimately renders the game worthless for most seasoned gamers.

It has about I really think this game deserves somewhere between a 7.5 and 8.9. It's very fun, and they finally prove they get the DS. It has about PS-One or N64 level graphics (which is amazing in a hand held to ME still) and it has a very good control scheme. Although, after the backlash to the strapped on stylus controls in the first few rounds of racing games I wish someone would look at Starfox Command and do something similar, using buttons or dpad for gas, break, turbo, E-Break (for corner sliding) and stylus just for steering as an option. Not the ONLY way to play, but an option. Would be cool. Good sense of speed, KILLER sound (the main title track from Moby is stuck in my head constantly since I got it) All in all a solid racer, I just wish the bikes felt a little more different from the cars. Here's hoping the next generation of DS racer will get it even closer to right. Control schemes on this system should be all about choice! Expand

This game is impressive on the DS. It has a great lineup of vehicles. My favorite part is the song that plays in the main menu.

The regular racing in this game is turned up to 11. This game goes from being an arcade need-for-speed-like game to a high-octane ultra racer where physics is given the middle finger and your more worried you may accidentally break the game. This is actually good, and I loved this part of the game. Upgrading my car so that it can go faster and handle those turns with nonsensical precision was a joy and there were times where I had a couple of laughs and thought I was gonna break the collision. It was a joy.

Unfortunately, it seems like the AI just can't keep up with me. It's like they took the difficulty from the prior game and just threw it out the window. If the races were more than 2 laps I could easily lap my opponents within the 3rd or 4th lap because you just blaze past them. If there's ever an opponent you are struggling to get ahead of, just bash them into a wall. It takes them wayyy too long to get back up to speed and you've basically won.

It's a shame because I think I'd enjoy this game more than first if it weren't for how absolutely easy it is. I'm sure a kid may get a kick out of it, but come on. Give the AI a bit of a fight. It doesn't hurt to let the player come in 2nd or 3rd even. it's good motivation to get better.

The music I think Is as good if not maybe a bit worse than the first game. I ended up muting it after a few hours because I thought it got kind of repetitive and the revving noises sound like a low-quality recording of a diesel truck.

This game still looks great visually and it was fun playing some new tracks and re-visiting some other familiar ones. Technically, I felt as though this game suffered. I noticed more lag in the title screen and even while playing. There were some glitches I discovered during gameplay as well. Notably, one that I thought was kinda silly was where the handling for how quickly you can turn your vehicle is absurd shortly after the race begins.

I think the first game may be the superior title over this one, but I wouldn't exempt it and would even recommend playing with friends.

I had the first one on my samsung phone and the game play is not much different from that. There is a very good selection of cars (but no Porsche :-o) and lots of tracks. My 5 year old son clocked this game in about 3 days. He seemed to find more joy in pimping out the rides than racing. My partner liked this game a lot although I think that had something to do with the PCD's! The game doesn't utilize the touch screen much, which is basically the whole point of a ds. Expand
