Exient continues to impress us with every successive sports product it produces on the Nintendo DS for Electronic Arts, and FIFA Soccer 2008 is definitely the team's best portable effort to date.

If you're as serious about your soccer as EA is, then FIFA 08 won't disappoint. [Nov 2007, p. 102]
  3. While far from revolutionary it is a solid and balanced football game on a handheld generally lacking in technical muscle and raw power.
  4. Another example of the solid annual improvement expected in its sport franchises, FIFA 08 is EA's best DS footie game to date.
  5. FIFA 08 is a good rendition of a game design from a couple of generations ago that has been enhanced with a few modern tweaks, like online play and touchscreen controls. The gameplay might seem a little lacking in depth and strategy when compared to the 3D sports games most players are used to, but in terms of handheld gaming it provides a fun experience.

As the final whistle blows and FIFA 08 stumbles off the pitch, bruised and battered, legs like jelly, a glance up at the scoreboard reveals the final result; a two all draw.

Another problem was that no one was ever online for the Wi-Fi connection, so that was just unwanted space on the game. I thought FIFA Soccer 2005 for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance was better, and FIFA Soccer 2005 is what encouraged me to buy FIFA Soccer 08. Other than that, great graphics, amazing instant replays; but overall, bad game. Full Review »

Poor AI, broken control, muddy graphics and unneccesery touchscreen features make this game medicore at the most.
