Nintendo GamerInoffensive, with samey levels and enemies, and unchallenging boss fights. [May 2008, p.75]
-
If you're looking for some mindless monster mashing stick with the versus fight-focused PS2 or Wii versions or, better yet, revisit the arcade classic Rampage.
-
None of the recent Godzilla games have been very good, but at least they were fun. Godzilla: Unleashed Double Smash cannot make this claim. It looks terrible, and reduces the King of the Monsters to a mush of no-texture polygons, then puts him in a tedious series of punching planes and kicking boats.
-
Godzilla Unleashed is a slow, boring and easy 2D action game that fails miserably on every level. With its terrible controls and short story mode, this Godzilla game is only good for testing your Nintendo DS to make sure it still works.
-
This game makes the American remake of Godzilla look like an Oscar contender. It's an affront to not only fans of Godzilla, but fans of fun. The gameplay is uninspired, and there is no redeeming quality to make it bearable.
-
The King of Monsters stars in the worst of DS games.
-
Everything about this game, from the simplistic graphics and the incoherent story to the lack of a workable save system and the horrible hit detection speak to a rushed effort. Even the manual is filled with errors, with the table of contents pointing to sections that don’t exist.
