  1. With mentally deficient in-game opponents and groan-inducing fetch-quests galore, the real draw of SNK Vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS is the collection aspect.
  2. Fans of the old Cardfighters game or the Capcom vs SNK series in general will love this, but the cardfighting hardcore have probably already moved to Yu-Gi-Oh.
  3. Card Fighters DS is a sequel that does not, for one moment, understand why anyone liked its predecessor.
  4. SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS is an often entertaining game, which makes its shoddy production and localization especially disappointing.
  5. With the pedigree of the original behind it you might think this is a safe purchase, but don't be fooled ... SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters DS is a flawed experience from beginning to end.
  6. It is broken in the literal sense of not working as sold and, as such, must be scored appropriately. That the game underneath the bodged localisation is also, figuratively, a broken shell of what it once was and absolutely nowhere near as good as it should have been, is more than anything, deeply, deeply sad.

The game requires lots of grinding. I liked the game for the story which seems like a redeeming factor but honestly there's better card games out there.
It does offer a good soundtrack and story but the game itself is either too easy or unbalanced.
Not to mention sometimes when climbing the tower you will run into a "how do I progress" type of moment.
The card artwork for many cards comes in really nicely too.
If only an actual fighting game from Capcom and SNK actually came out but for right now, this is like a look into what cross-over games we can get.

It's not a bad game, but it's not the greatest either. I'd say about average with this one that could use many improvements next time.

Now, he game has a learning curve to it's features and is kind of hard to progress at times. (Grind necessary?).

BUT it's really not as bad as these other reviews say. I was actually surprised by the low scores! I personally enjoy it, but I realize it's not the best. At all. I know this will sound blasphemous, but at times it reminds me of Pokemon: The Trading Card Game. (Forces system parallel to element system in PTCG)
All in all. Its decent. I have fun with it, but often feel at a loss in progression and put it down for later.
And also, it's kind cool seeing all my favorite Capcom vs SNK characters!

The fighting system is poor, (thats the main part of the game) and organizing your cards is tedious and relatively unintuitive (another core of the game). It is cool seeing all the the Capcom and SNK characters in card form, (phoenix wright characters make pleasant additions) but seeing familiar faces does not warrant any of your gaming time. Expand

Then you see two cards together without any animation just rumble and flashing and then numbers drop down. I will not pay for a game that only flash with barely no animation whatsoever. Not even for free I will get this game. I prefer to play street fighter 1 (arcade version) and King of fighters 94 (neo geo) instead of this foolish peoples' game. If you think is cool, awesome, exciting, etc. Then you are not smart enough to buy what is worth it. I prefer to play my old neopocket game SNK Vs Capcom - Match of The Millennium. SNK VS CAPCOM MATCH OF THE MILLENNIUM IS A VERY OLD FIGTHING GAME AND IS MORE FUN THAN THE DUMB CARD GAME THEY CREATED.
NEXT CAPCOM VS SNK BETTER BE A FIGHTING GAME WITH ALL THE CHARACTERS FOR THE NINTENDO DS AS AN APOLOGIES INSULTING THE INTELLIGENCE OF US THE CUSTOMERS. IF YOU BOUGHT THIS GAME YOU ARE ALREADY THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THE WHOLE CAPCOM AND SNK COMPANY.
