For me, I think the new age mode brings some nice things to the table, but might not be enough to warrant a purchase.
-
This Nintendo DS game card is aimed squarely at fans of the original game and doesn't go overboard to modernize the classic formula.
-
Space Invaders Revolution is never going to be the title to grab the attention of the masses, but for those that have fond memories or wish for something highly addictive to fill 15 minute slots you’ll not find anything quite so fitting as this.
-
The game comes with a new and slightly speedier version (and when I say slightly I really mean SLIGHTLY) that has some snazzy special effects (and by snazzy I mean not really snazzy at all).
-
It's not very creative. And past Space Invaders games on current consoles and handhelds have done a much better job with contemporizing a true arcade classic.
-
Nintendo PowerWith no multiplayer support, very little replay value, underachieving graphics and weak sound effects, Space Invaders fails to revive the franchise's former glory. [Oct 2005, p.97]
-
If you're looking for a revolution, you've come to the wrong place - unless you just want to go around in circles.
-
The dreaded bottom line is that we've seen it all before, and much, much better.
-
Space Invaders Revolution should serve as an industry standard, an shining example of how to take a classic game and squeeze the last few bucks out of it without doing much to differentiate it from the original game.
