A new standard for the genre. With a huge world full of surprises you could define it as the Skyrim of action games.
It offers a very good story and vast freedom of action and lets you dispose of enemies in various, often sophisticated ways. But there's more – tropical islands with their intriguing mysteries, superb acting, crafting, additional challenges and broad possibilities of character development. This game is everything Far Cry 2 was supposed to be. [CD-Action 1/2013, p.38]

Far cry 3 does a perfect job in terms of a survival game. It has everything what you could expect from a survival game. It had a great story except the fact that I lost some interest when I came to know that there is another villain after Vaas but the story do was interesting till the end. The locations and gameplay mechanics were all great. It felt alive and I was amazed with everything in the game cause it was my first farcry game.

Far Cry 3 is one of the most interesting games of the year. The single-player mode is a great mix of a big sandbox and an atmospheric story with interesting characters. There are some mistakes here and there, but all in all everyone should be satisfied - sandbox lovers and fans of good storylines alike. What's more, the multiplayer isn't something added just because it needs to be - it's a great, big, rightful mode focused on cooperation (an additional co-op mini-campaign that borrows character progress from the standard multiplayer is a welcome bonus). Far Cry 3 is a package full of pleasant surprises. An insanely good game.
Far Cry 3 is an exceptional FPS with fun mechanics and excellent characterization. Unfortunately it wastes a fair number of opportunities offered by its huge open-world background. Plus, the secondary activities are not as fun as they could have been, and the island is too extensive to be interesting in the long run. Anyway, this game has surprised us.
Taking the best elements that made the two previous titles so successful, correcting some of their mistakes too, Far Cry 3 is clearly the blockbuster we were waiting for. Visually and artistically, the open-world is simply amazing. The different missions the main campaign consists of are all interesting as well, and the co-op aspects that are well-introduced. The multiplayer mode will entertain players for hours thanks to ingenious gameplay ideas.
If you prefer to be your own boss you should definitely visit this extraordinary island for some fun. Far Cry 3 is an amazing method for relaxation. [Christmas 2012]
The action is explosive, the direction of the story sequences is intense at times, but still I can't really feel at home on these islands. Far Cry 3 is the ultimate open sandbox: The player can do what he wants, where he wants it, when he wants it. But the credibility of the world suffers – and with it my motivation.

Far Cry 3 is a typical Ubisoft piece of schütt game. Open world full of nothing but treasure chests. Besides the main storyline there isn't much to do. Few side quests worth s_it, repetitive camp captures, bounties, races and map revealing towers we all know from Assassin's Creed.
There's a non-functional crafting mechanics which require you to do grindy work, hunting animals, picking plants. Simply put, you can't carry two weapons unless you skin two goats. This garbage mechanic is present in following year's AC Black Flag. But you won't get short on money due to UBIquitous chests. You can't do anything with your money, only buy guns and ammo, certainly not hides, right?
The gameplay offers stealth even lamer than any AC game released in 2009 or later, health system is very forgiving, it's easier to die climbing a tower than in combat. The game didn't get hard enough to make me hunt tapirs or cassowaries.
The story is teenage cringe with disgusting elements such as incestuous and coomer themes. You even get to choose a bad ending disguised as a coomer one. Shame on anyone who chose this ending.
