  1. It’s the closest thing to a vaguely taxing "Banjo Kazooie" -style adventure we might ever get.

Colorful graphics combined with challenging gameplay.

So much has changed...for the better. Improved, tighter controls, more tasks to complete, more variety in the level design, a longer quest, and a better use of the isometric perspective.
  4. Sadly, there's little depth in Season of Flame.
  5. Although Spyro 2: Season of Flame is a very well produced game, the difficulty of it may turn away many players, myself included.
  6. Season of Flame would benefit from better control and more objectives apart from collecting a bazillion trinkets, but the graphics, humor, and puzzles are engaging enough to warrant a purchase for devotees of the purple dragon.

While the size of the game and the sheer inventiveness of the many levels are admirable, such problems with core elements of the engine make play unfulfilling.

The only gripe I had with it was the persp[ective in which the game was played. Once you got past that, it was a blast to play. Now, the second one is out and what do I have to say about it? Well, Season of Flame is even better. With better graphics, gameplay and control; who could ask for more? My only gripe is the ingame music. It just doesn't fit the Spyro mold. It seems forced. At any rate, though, This is a Spyro game through and through. Spyro:Season of Flame is an exceptional game. Not to be missed by the masses.... Expand

The graphics are also better and more colorful, the music is still nice and fitting to the area. The gameplay is still challenging and the controls are still intuitive (as they usually are). There's a lot of challenges that are take it or leave it to continue on so you can do as much as you feel.... but the deeper you go (I'm anal and have to 100% it like a freak) the more challenging the side quests become which I like despite the fact some of the side quests are taxing and repetitive.... Not because the difficulty level is too high, but because the mind-numbing boredom it gave me made me want to kill myself before I played more of it. There is absolutely no substance to this game whatsoever, with the game mostly based around the boring collection of gems and occasionally attacking easy to defeat enemies. While it has good graphics for a GBA game, these are cancelled out by the completely uninspired and forgettable soundtrack. Maybe diehard Spyro fans could enjoy this game, but I was sorely disappointed with it. If you're looking for a good platformer on the GBA, there are much better choices. Expand
