The first level is no pushover, yet immensely entertaining and freeform, as is the entire game. This is a must have, unless the site of blood makes you squeamish.
-
Fans of "The Godfather" or the more recent "Road to Perdition" will no doubt be thrilled by everything they experience while playing this game.
-
Nintendo PowerGorgeous graphics and beautifully orchestrated music set the perfect mood for this amazing game. The open mission layout forces you to strategize, rather than simply running in with guns blazing. [Sept 2003, p.135]

GameNowThis is definitely for the hardcore, as lesser folk will be scared away. [Aug 2003, p.28]
-
This is a clear example of a shoddy port to a terrific game. No one would stand up to these misgivings on any other title, but for some reason you can forgive Hitman 2. At moments things just get so bad, and the distractions become too much.
-
The AI in this game is the most bipolar I have ever seen. The guards range from pattern-driven goons to superhuman logic machines who can see right through disguises, as if they had X-ray vision.
-
Overall, I found this game to be difficult to get into from a control perspective and then once I became familiar with the controls, the game was an exercise in frustration rather than a pleasure to play.
