Naruto: Clash of Ninja is an engaging, energetic, button-smacking workout--whether you're a Naruto fan or not. [Apr 2006, p.31]
The frenetic, out-of-control battles take no time to warm up to, but fighting enthusiasts will probably shudder at the game's simplicity.
The game won't keep you in terms of any kind of longevity, but it's an engaging enough fighter to keep you busy until the next hot GameCube title comes tumbling into stores.
Naruto: Clash of Ninja has very little to offer as a fighting game, but there's a decent amount of fun to be had for those who appreciate the license.
For us older fans (especially those raised on the fansubs) and people with even a tiny knowledge of how fighting games work, one shouldn't even bother giving this a second look.
What we have here is the most basic and elementary of fighting games. It's nothing to look at, listen to, or play.
