Captures the intensity of boxing and the enjoyment of the movies in a remarkable manner.
-
There's no limit to the replay value here, unless you just flat out don't like the game or its multiplayer mode.
-
The challenge is tough too. You'll be hard pressed to make it though the movie mode on normal difficulty without a good number of continues.
-
Nintendo PowerThe game even has a meat locker training scene and play control that rivals that of the Knockout Kings series. [Nov 2002, p.222]
-
Aside from these occasional moments of ludicrously unbalanced fighting, Rocky is a very fun boxing game that does require a good amount of skill to master.
-
A title that any Rocky fan (or even boxing fans in general) must have, even if the actual game itself has some pretty nasty flaws.
-
Chief among the defects of Rocky is that despite the game's well-conceived interplay of jabs, uppercuts, blocks, power-punches and what have you, it's too easy to cheap-shot your way to victory.
