It's easily the Mario Kart of soccer games and that should tell you a lot. Even if you think you're a confirmed soccer hater, Super Mario Strikers just might rock your world.

This is by far the craziest Mario sports title yet and I had a blast with it. [Jan 2006, p.49]
  3. The fact that the atmosphere is the most notable part of the game means that it also fails in some respects.
  4. It's soccer starring Mario and friends, but the problem is, there just isn't enough "Mario" in Super Mario Strikers.
  5. Yet another brilliantly ironic Mario Sports title which once again proves that everyones favorite portly plumber can indeed kick it with style.
  6. A decent arcade soccer game with too little Mario. The developers could have put considerably more Mario-elements into the game other than the characters and the title.
  7. Nintendo didn't include enough extra fuel to give this otherwise fun endeavor the appeal of a "Mario Kart."

Playing this game with friends is unlike any other soccer game i will ever witness. My family was too fast paced for something slow like fifa but also wanted a game we could compete at that anyone could pick up. Nintendo has managed to bring fun party games that anyone can play to the table over and over. They know this market better than anyone else and I feel like each game they release just adds to their mastery of this. Well done Nintendo, you have brought so many memories to people like myself Expand

It might not have a billion playable characters or stadiums as the reviews state but you can sit anyone down to play and in ten minutes they are hooked. Five year olds could enjoy the game at novice difficulty and I have had a tough time beating All-Star difficulty not to mention there is still legend to conquer. This is not football but it reminds me of NBA Jam for its easy to play hard to master twitchy gameplay. Don't believe the hype simply play it for 10 minutes (hopefully with friends) and you will love MSF Expand

It's fun. "Mario cash-in"?? That's like saying disney only makes money off it's characters. weak gameplay? If "Easy to learn It's fun. "Mario cash-in"?? That's like saying disney only makes money off it's characters. weak gameplay? If "Easy to learn but hard to master" is weak, then yes. "Zero Depths" not really sure what he is talking about. I think depths is actually singular, and "standard mario gimmicks". Right lets make a mario game that doesnt have the look or feel of a mario game. It's a fun game. Expand

Sure, it may well fall between two stools, being too Mario-y for football fans and too football-y for platform cravers, but as a fan of both, I love it. There's a palpable learning curve and working on your build-ups to attacks reaps great rewards. Back of the net! Or something. Expand

Yet another Mario cash-in. Weak gameplay, zero depths, and the standard Mario Universe gimmicks all around. Nintendo is becoming EA
