Though it's a bit brief, Assault Squadron is one of the best-looking and best-playing shooters on the App Store.
Assault Squadron easily stacks up with any space shooter I have played on the PS3 or 360 in the past few years, both in visuals and in gameplay.
The game is wrapped up in a professional-grade package that makes it stand well above nearly every other shooter on the App Store.
Assault Squadron is a fantastic game. While I personally prefer twitchier controls, most players will not find them to be an issue so this concern really should be considered more of a personal preference.
Assault Squadron is a great attempt at the "bullet hell" shoot 'em up genre from outside of its homeland, and is impressive from a technical standpoint, but a shoot 'em up with uncomfortable controls is a shoot 'em up that should be approached with caution.
Assault Squadron has all of the ingredients necessary for a good shooter except the most critical: tight controls.
An all-out attack on the eyes, Assault Squadron is a slick shooter that's too short for its own good.
