Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is a good rendition of an excellent console game that should satisfy fans of military-themed shooters.

It isn't the same flashy rock-solid tactical shooter that has rocketed off on major consoles, but the single-player campaign has some meat even despite the anemic multiplayer mode.

If you are looking for an extensive online multiplayer, this isn't your game. But for the price, it is worth picking up for the campaign experience.

When you try to make a console game fit in your pocket, it can only end in tears.

This portable version of Battlefiled: Bad Company 2 offers a fairly long single player campaign, but the overall experience is less exciting than we expected. That is probably due to the unresponsive controls and the disappointing online multiplayer. With titles like Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus and NOVA 2 on the App Store, EA's last effort is hardly a priority.

First person shooters on Iphone never really works well. Bad Company 2 is decent, but falls in the same control trap.

For right now, it's nothing more than a bad first-person shooter.

Fun, but basically the opposite of the console/PC version. Terrible sound, OK graphics, and even worse AI than it's console/PC cousin. Or more like father's mother's brother's uncle's aunt's sister's grandma's grandpa's step-brother's son-in-law. The HUD is straight out of the first Bad Company game, and I found the characters not nearly as funny or interesting in it's console/PC... counterpart.
Oh, and NO destruction. Maybe this game should have been titled Battlefield: Bad Company 0.5?

Essentially the entire game is a completely stripped down version of the console shooter- movement is simplified by removing the ability to sprint, prone has been removed, and bullets easily track enemies to compensate for a lack of a controller. The graphics are decent as they resemble the console graphics with a lot of concessions, but the environments are particularly weak and the sound is horrible. The campaign is decent but only worth purchasing the game for if you find it on sale for a dollar- it is, like the rest of the game, a stripped down rendition of the console campaign to compensate for the iOS version. The multiplayer simply does not work. Joining or creating any games will immediately crash the app nearly 95% of the time. The 5% chance you don't crash, you will find a very stripped down version of the console shooter. You have two modes, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. Classes have been entirely removed. Instead you simply pick your characters appearance based on all of the campaign characters and enemies and then pick from one of the game's few weapons. The spawn system is awful- you will often spawn directly in front of enemies- but the gameplay is decent, it is surprisingly easy to track enemy players with the iOS controls and gun them down with a few shots. Unfortunately, this is all wishful thinking because even if you get into a game, you will still crash. As of this review I have never completed a single multiplayer game through multiple attempts. This game should be free- and even then it wouldn't do you much good to waste your time trying to play it. Do not waste your money. Expand
