"It's a huge shame, because Dungeon Keeper is such a great franchise. I vividly remember getting hooked on the original for the very first time, and hooking in non-strategy fans with its unique perspective and visual style. But you're getting none of that here, as you're instead presented with a hollow freemium shell of what once was." ... Read full review

"It could've been a chance to give a second life to an old classic, but EA got this all wrong. The managing side is poor, and a greedy microtransaction system ultimately spoils the fun." ... Read full review

"The tragedy of Dungeon Keeper is that every so often, it shows glimpses of what makes it great. You can see the classic game is in there somewhere: its genius, and what it could have been. But then the gates slam shut, as though the Dungeon Keeper himself is kept in a larger meta-dungeon, whose bean-counting overlord tells you to come back later, or maybe even tomorrow. Or pay up." ... To "play" it you open up the app, tap a block, wait 24 hours and repeat with more blocks. It's not a FREE GAME, it's a FREE WAIT. The original Dungeon Keeper games from the 1990s were amongst the best games in the WORLD, and it's an UNDERSTATEMENT to call this an insult to the original. Look at the number of 5 star reviews in the Play Store, nearly 150,000 5-star reviews from people who were either bribed by EA or are TOTAL deluded moron idiots. If you actually think this is OK, you seriously have a big problem. Basically, "Leave it for 24 hours if you don't want to fork over your real money to this abomination of a greedy developer. EA seem to be bent on buying great game developer companies and replacing their games with terrible free-to-play scams. This is how the industry is being destroyed.

So just STOP giving these people ANY money. STOP giving them ANY 5 star reviews and this will stop.

If you don't stop it's going to get so bad that in a few years they might buy up Minecraft and turn it into a 20x20 grid where it takes 10 minutes to mine a block of dirt and 14 days to mine a block of obsidian. You wouldn't want that to happen would you? So just stop supporting them so they will stop.

That the marketplace even allows microtransaction games of such illicit nature is a testament to the corruption evident in today's game industry. That EA could openly create such an evisceration of a beloved franchise, and then proceed with malevolent intent to forge reviews (7000 positive reviews on the first day? Yeah right.) and expect additional money for DLC is far beyond human comprehension. The tutorial doesn't even complete. DLC is a component of game design, not a method to create a game by itself. Shame that what EA has essentially created is unwillingly a satire of the predicament that they themselves continue to stoke like a fire. I've seen spyware more subtle in asking for money. Expand

EA made the game unplayable!

In Short: Dungeon Keeper is not a video game, not any more. Instead it’s just a virtual beggar, constantly demanding your spare change and offering nothing in return.

Pros: Older smartphones aren’t compatible.

Cons: A sickening perversion of the whole concept of video games, with nothing in the way of gameplay just constant cajoling for you to bribe your way to victory.
